Cons:
.for almost every ipod you need better headphones
.tilt coverflow is a little slow
(sound quality is ok with original headphones but i prefer new ones for the best sound quaulity)

This is an incredibly small and appealing player. Looks are great. The sound quality is excellent. The screen is bright and clear. The build quality appears to be solid.
However...
The iTunes user interface has to be one of the worst in the industry today, especially one that accompanies a device as successful as the iPod. Any hopes of fine-grained control over the songs you sync to the iPod are dashed, nay, crushed, by the iTunes interface. Note to Apple: please send some of your software usability engineers to Google for a crash course. Probably heresy, but Microsoft also seems to do a better job in this department.
The iPod controls are not very clear on how to turn up or down the volume on the device. Which is surprising, given how the other functions are so obvious and intuitive.
Overlook these two cribs, and this is an excellent device. Well... almost.

Ok, everyone knows that ipods are the best thing since sliced bread, so I do not need to give my feedback on the product...but here is my story.
I bought this for my Dad'd 70th bday and had it shipped to him. When the box arrived at his doorstep...it was empty! Now who knows how it happened?? Could have been carelessly left out at shipping, could have been stolen along the way?? Regardless, my Dad called Amazon and was put on phone w/ real person and without question, by the next day he had a ipod in his hands. he was ssooo impressed with the service he did not care about the mishap.

This is just a short review, mostly to answer the #1 complaint I've read in all the other reviews of this product.
Almost everyone who has a problem with this new iPod has cited the accelerometer as their major complaint. They say that it interferes with using the volume, that it's unnecessary, etc. etc. Here, then, is my solution:
YOU CAN TURN IT OFF.
By going into the "settings" menu, one can very easily disable the accelerometer, AND the "shake-to-shuffle" feature.
So please, stop writing these bad reviews wherein your only substantial complaint is the device's optional features.
