This is not my first mp3 player and I'm much happier with this one than the last. I like the features on it, like viewing video podcasts and the controls (especially the screen lock). Sound quality is very clear and the volume control allows a wide range. The games are really fun. Since there's a small screen, the movies and music videos are very small, but they do play well. Wireless syncing and bluetooth would be huge improvements. The Notes and Calendar would be better if you could create/update them on the nano, instead of only syncing them from your computer. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because the battery doesn't last very long and it could use some additional features. I purchased this iPod for my wife for her (I'm not allowed to say)th birthday. I'm a bit of a techie and I had no problems getting it to work. I've loaded a couple audiobooks, a bunch of Oprah shows (oy vay) and a few dozen MP3 albums. Cover Flow works great, make sure you've got your tags done properly for best results. My wife is technology challenged and she's getting along fairly well with it. Takes some practice to get used to hitting the center button the right way so you can scroll through the videos and tracks to the point in time (What was that? Go back!), but you get the hang of it with time. The picture is truly awesome for it's size, the earbuds are adequate but I recommend to invest in something more comfortable. Battery life is pretty much as advertized. Too bad my birthday is two days before hers, now I'll have to wait for Christmas (if I'm good) or my birthday (if I'm bad) to get one for me. Plenty of storage for music and great sound quality. We use this Nano on a portable speaker device too, and it works great! Size makes it just right for kids to carry in their pocket. If you want to do more than play music - get a diferent ipod with a bigger screen.....Digital camera Review: Awesome product in a small size!

I just got my iPod a couple of days ago. I had seen the 4th generations come out over the last couple of weeks and realized quickly I didn't like the changes and didn't want one of those. I've wanted one like this since my daughter got one last year for Christmas and I've seen all she can do with it. It'll take me awhile to learn all the features -- I'm a bit slow with technology -- but so far I've been really enjoying the portablility of it and also love the Sudoku game iTunes has for it! Now I've just got to find the perfect dock for it!
