I've been running with this thing since I got it, and it's perfect for the job. (I didn't get one of those arm bands that you can get with it because I hear that those are not so good). It's lightweight, it holds more songs than I need in a run, and it's got a great battery life. Simple. This is the straightforward ipod; NO frills. My teenagers are both avid runners. They both already had bigger iPods but wanted something smaller and more convenient for running. They specifically requested the iPod Shuffle for Christmas because of it's size and the built-in clip. They both really like the iPod Shuffle and use it everytime they run.Digital camera Review: Great for music on the go

It's small, portable, & plays whatever music you put on it - the technology itself deserves 5 stars.
Great for running (clips on to your shirt or pocket). Simple "next" button to scan music. Decent size (fits several hundred songs).
Only problems:
1) The ear buds may not be right for your ear shape and may fall out. If it's annoying, just get yourself the perfect earphones and use them with the music player.
2) You can only add music via iTunes, which is pretty annoying. Every time you plug it in to add music or to charge, it will try to "resync" the iPod and the computer files, so don't add music from an external device and don't move the folder you keep your music in. This is why I'm skimping on the last star.
But again, as a basic portable music player, it's great.

This is my first Ipod and it's better than I expected. The sound is very cd like. You can play the songs as you arrange them with the I tunes software or use the shuffle feature to mix up your playlist. The player is very portable and is great for use at the gym.
