This little ipod has made life more enjoyable. I already own a 20gb ipod that worked well, but I was tired of carrying that brick around... especially at the gym. The shuffle is so light it clips on my clothes and I can't feel its weight. Only drawback that I can think of is the connection would not allow to use it with some FM transceivers in the car. I bought two IPOD shuffles. One for my husband and one for me. My teenage grandson labored for days to get just the music we wanted on it. he succeeded and it has been a joy to me. I use it at work, where I am the data entry manager, and it is wonderful to help the hours go by. It was a wise purchase. My husband uses his on the riding mower and he loves it too

I LOVE iPODS! Have the 5th Gen Video, 2 8GB Nanos 2nd Gen and 2 Shuffles 3rd Gen. This little "mighty mite" has an amazingly long battery life & at 1 gb or 240 songs, doesn't really need screen display and categorization. It is so tiny and easy to wear either hidden or displayed. I usually sleep "in mine" - it runs all nite for 2 nights without recharge (16 - 24 hours!). My 5th Gen Video is good for 6 hours MAX and I never watch or have videos on it, just music. My 2 8GB Nanos get a good 12 hours each. I knew of someone who had 5 shuffles -- one for each category of music, i.e., country, classical, pop etc. you get the idea. I got my last one from Amazon for a GREAT price in the color I wanted and it was SHIPPED quickly in PERFECTLY NEW CONDITION. My daughter loved hers so much I had to get one. I love it so much had to get my brother one for Xmas. Great sound... amazing and what a deal for the money. This IPOD 3rd Generation player is all I could ask for. I decided to purchase this simply for excercising and I could not be any happier. In fact, I purchased an extra for my wife. Folks, of course there will be critics out there who wish this could be cheaper in price and capable of expanding more to like a 2 GB and offer more features, but take it for what its worth. This IPOD is not for anyone, especially those who seek all the tech features such as videos and pictures, but that is why Apple created other players. With shuffle you simply load it up with over 200 songs and you listen. You play and don't worry about anything but the volume. By no means I don't exclude any other ipods like the Nano because those other players are awesome, but I suggest to find the best one to suit you.
I just purchased the auxilary cable and plugged the shuffle to my car stereo and it works GREAT !!
