I personally love the 2nd generation iPod Shuffle, mainly because the controls are on the ipod itself instead of the headphones. Therefore you can switch out and use many different styles of headphones if you choose, such as noise cancelling and styles that cover the ear completely! Not to mention if anything unforeseen happens to the headphones on the newer version you would have to find replacement headphones that have all the controls on the headphones themselves.....which I personally think stinks! I was extremely happy that I was able to find a 2nd generation ipod for a gift, beings as I am extremely pleased with the one I received as a gift. The only complaint I have is the price I had to pay for this one, originally I believe they sold for around $50.00 and I had to pay $89.00 along with shipping charges to get this one.Digital camera Review: A Rip OFF!!

The ipod shuffle is great! Granted, it's limited in it's features. But, I find that to be part of it's beauty. It's perfect for a subway commute, jogging session, or time at the gym. The fact that there's no screen to tell what song is coming next is kind of nice once you get used to it. It keeps that element of surprise going and is less distracting. I love the shuffle. I've even dropped in water and it still kept working. It's light weight, easy to use, and the battery life is AMAZING! It's an A+ Apple product.
I'm don't use the Shuffle like most. I don't use iTunes. Instead I use iShuffle.exe to sync the playlist. This gives me more flexibility and ease of use. I prefer Amazon MP3 downloads. I also use Juice to download podcasts. Then use a script to copy over files every day.
