I loved the concept and have run many miles with this little thing attached to my shirt. I would give it 5 stars if I was not on my third docking station which is again beginning to falter like the previous two. Okay, I love the iPod shuffle for what it is - compact, almost indestructible, and easy. And I believe that iTunes is the best music player on Mac or PC, and makes it exceptionally easy to manage your music and synch with iPods. But THIS WAS A $59.00 ITEM from Apple. As of this writing, Nov. 18, 2009, you can get them at the Apple Store refurbished, with a full one year warranty, for $39.00. This clown is selling them for $199.99 which is, let me see, almost FOUR TIMES THE ORIGINAL APPLE PRICE. If you are stupid enough to pay that much then PLEASE don't complain that they cost too much. If you don't like the charging dock that comes with it there are several options available on Amazon, starting at about three bucks.
I admit that this is not the best ONLY iPod, but it is certainly an excellent OTHER iPod. Unless you only want an iPod to work out with, in which case this IS the best iPod, and much better than any of its competition.

I bought this specifically for the gym, using either a treadmill or elliptical. I don't wear an Ipod weight training. The size is excellnt, so small you don't even know your wearing it, I just clip in on my shorts pocket.
I didn't buy the 3rd generation because of the poor reviews involving headphone/earplug control failure due to moisture from sweat. Also the fact you can't use a different pair of earplugs which I do becasue I like mine better.
It does just what I wanted it to do, I can load up a bunch of songs & changing songs and volume is simple even while running. I also don't see why some people have a problem with the small dockinig station to recharge it. It just becomes part of my routine, come home from the gym, take it out of my gymbag with other stuff, plug it into the docking station attached to the USB on the computer, and it's gets recharged eventually before the next day. I'm always online in the evening, so it's never a problem, besides there are other charging options available if you wanted them.
I think this is an excellent product for what it is.... Not a lot of bells & whistles..... Just a small simple Ipod for active people.

I have this Ipod for a little over a month now and absolutely love it, I have listened to it for 8hrs at work and then went home and cut the grass for an hour and a half and the battery never died, I have owned a sandisk and Coby mp3 players and neither compare to the ease of use, sound quality, or the wearability that the Ipod Shuffle offers!!!
