I've never owned an Ipod before, but I did have a generic mp3 player with limited volume control. So I had a small amount of knowledge about transferring music to an mp3 player. My only problem with this mp3 player is that the instructions do not tell you that you can only use itunes to transfer music. So to inform new users, when I first plugged it into my computer to charge the battery, I got a flashing orange light for about 10 hours. I had been using windows media player to transfer songs, and it was showing that these songs were on the ipod. When I unplugged it and turned it on, none of these songs were actually on the ipod, it would not do anything. After several hours of wasting my time, I did my research and discovered this important piece of information, downloaded itunes, and besides the fact that itunes is much slower than windows media player, I love this ipod. Once synced to itunes, it finally stopped blinking orange, turned to a green light, and started playing music. The sound quality is fantastic. For me, the simplicity is great.Digital camera Review: Expensive for what it is.

I won my iPod shuffle, so I didn't have to pay $75 for it. After playing with it for a few hours, I could not imagine paying $75 for it. It has virtually no features, and only holds 1GB of music. For the same price, you can get a full featured MP3 player that holds 2 to 4 times as much music. With that being said, what the Shuffle can do, it does fairly well. It's also very tiny, so that might be a plus to some. I give it 4 stars for not costing me anything, and working well.
Edit: The average price of the "Shuffle" has dropped below $50. IMO it is now a decent buy for what it is.

I actually have the pink version of the Shuffle. But never mind the cosmetics. This is a great little iPod. You simply clip it to your clothes (no armband needed) and off you go. I find myself continually fascinated by the mixture of sounds. If you don't like that mix, just plug it in and the computer will find a new one for you.
Who needs the video when you have a little wonder like this?
