I bought an 16GB ipod touch after take a deep look at my friends one. 16GB of memory and just a tad bigger video screen wasn't so appealing at first glance, however when I made more research and watch how the safari web browser worked, the wifi connectivity and a cool handy virtual keyboard, I decided that I needed to get one of these ASAP, the price dropped when the 32GB was launched so I bit the bullet and placed the order on amazon.
Since it arrived 2 weeks ago I take it with me everywhere, I don't even take my laptop to the college anymore, this is all I need to take notes, check my email, stay online on msn, watch some vids on youtube and surf the web for any required information.
After the mandatory jailbreak you start to see the ipod touch as something pretty useful, I installed wikipedia, mxtube, iphysics, translation dictionarys and some games to keep myself entertained everywhere I go.
The wireless works pretty good, the GUI is impressive, keyboard is a big small but it's possible to get used to it and be able to type very quick with no mistakes.
The ipod touch has gone beyond any of my expectations, all my friends want to buy one after see what is this little gadget is capable of.
The downsides I noticed are minor stuff, however I'll mencion them anyway: there is no copy paste command on safary, safary stops the browsing if there is any flash video, the chromed back can be scratched very easy, I only use it for 5 minuted and already had some parts with some deep tracks, so you might want to consider a best skins ever full body skin.

Honestly I cant believe I didn't get one sooner. This seriously has made my life easier. Not only organizing me, but putting everything into one. Now I got to upgrade to an IPhone to be ALL in one!
The only difference between this and the Iphone is one has the ability to talk on the phone with "phone features." and the ITouch does not have any of that...
But if you do not need a cellphone then the Itouch is the way to go.

THe iPod Touch is the best iPod I've ever owned. Apple really has created a phenomenal device in the Touch. Now with the firmware 2.0 available, and being able to tap into the App Store, it makes life even more exciting.. Even with this touch now being outdated, with the firmware updates Apple continues to put out, it makes it seem like a nice device every time.
The one complaint I'd have it typical of most iPods. The back can be scratched easily. I picked up an Invisible Shield to protect it, which helped a lot. Still looks brand new, and that's the way I'd like it.
In the end, however, I realized, as fantastic as the device was, why did I want to carry around a cell phone AND an iPod? In the end, I sold my touch, and picked up an iPhone. It's brought my life to a whole new level to have everything all in one device. Among the best purchases I've ever made.

There are so many features on this device, it's not just a media player, it's an UMPC (ultra-mobile PC). Now with the new application software available for both the iPod Touch and the iPhone, you can install applications like you can a PC (use iTunes to download or download at a WiFi spot). Since it has the internet, a PDA, email, and can install apps on it, it could replace the need to carry a laptop for some instances. The battery life for the internet is about 2 hours, but if you don't use the Wi-Fi, it can last up to 22 hours. I love this device, and I put 4 out of 5 stars because of only 2 hour battery life for WiFi, otherwise, it would have gotten a 5!Digital camera Review: Best thing under the sun!
