This is a good product from Apple. All it is really is the iPhone minus the camera and the phone part. I bought it cheaper on Amazon than I would have at Best Buy or Target. It came in 2 days just like the estimated arrival said when it would have arrived. I would recommed buying this iPod. I dropped it a few times and it still works just like the day I first got it. The only thing is over time on the back of the iPod it gets VERY dirty. I wasn't really in the market for an iPod Touch, but I was given this one. Man, I absolutely love it! I've had it for a couple months now, and I can't imagine going back to life without one.
Basically, this is the non-phone version of the iPhone, which means it can do anything they can do. You can check e-mail (I have three accounts set up in it). You can search maps. You can play lots of fun games. You can download apps. You can surf the web on Safari, Apple's browser.
Of course, the catch with all of these things is that you must to connected to wireless internet to do them. You'd be surprised at just how many networks there are out there you can join. Most require a password, but many businesses offer it these days. True, it isn't a substitute for a real computer, but it is dang close.
Oh yeah, it also plays music and movies. I haven't used it for a movie, but I have found that it is nice for music on the go. Granted, my only other portable music device is an iPod Shuffle, so the ability and choose songs as I am listening to them seems lovely.
Here again, however, it would be nice if it came with a case or armband. As it is, all you can do is stick in your pocket if you want to carry it around.
Yes, it is expensive. But it would be completely worth it to me. After playing with it for a couple of months, I don't want to give it up at all.

When I bought this for my son (a 7 years old Club Penguin addicted hehehe) I tought, good he will be able to access ClubPenguin also on his IPod touch....
What a disappointment when in attempt to access ClubPenguin or any other webpage that runs on Flash, I discovered that Ipod do not support Flash.
Ok forget about web surfing, let's put a few songs on it..... I have several gigs on MP3 and surely my son does not enjoy all of them, other disappointment when using I-Tunes I spent a couple of hours doing a songs selection to my son and when I tried to send only those songs to his Ipod (only the checked songs); Bang other "No-Go", with Itunes whether you transfer all songs detected on your HD or the software will try to push in whatever songs the space on the Ipod allows....
See, in portuguese we make jokes with the name Ipod since the word "pode" means "can" and "eu" means "I", something like "Ipod" means "I can" hehehe, so to be honest, this product should be called "NO-pod" since nothing is allowed (a complete "cannot").
I can't understand why and how a product with so many limitations can be such a success..... Silly me who believing on that success, decided to try the product without some research about it first....
If I knew before about the lack of support to flash and difficulties to sync only desired songs to the Ipod I would never have bought this crap....
And beware, their latest product the announced "Ipad" does not seem to support flash either..... what a shame and pointless attempt to isolate every Apple user from the world....
