Digital camera Review: Good Product at a cheaper price
Summary: 5 Stars

Good product to use if you don't want to spend more money for this item. It's a buy

Digital camera Review: Good Stuff
Summary: 5 Stars

I have an I5 450 2.66Ghz processor and at stock with the stock compound and fan I was running about 45-46 idle and around 70 if running any Prime95 or LinX. So I changed out the compound and I seams a little strange from most because it is not always mixed very well so it will have some watery spots and then some thick spots. But if you just squeeze a little out on the a piece of glass or another non porous material you can mix it up and then just drop a little on your processor its great. Drop my temperatures from the 45 down to about 38 and running Prime95 or LinX around 60 stock so it really did help out with a stock setup.

Digital camera Review: Good thermal performance for off-label use
Summary: 5 Stars

I've purchased Arctic Silver several times before and used it when installing a new CPU and/or CPU cooler. I don't overclock my CPUs or run any serious cooling products (simple heatsink/fan combos for me) but I monitor my CPU temperature and it always runs very cool, even under heavy loads.

However, this time I bought Arctic Silver because I needed to create good thermal contact between components in a laboratory experiment (I'm a researcher in the field of materials science). I had a small aluminum sample stage that I needed to keep at a certain temperature, so I bought a thermoelectric (a.k.a. Peltier or solid-state heat pump) module and controller, power supply, etc. and used the Arctic Silver thermal paste between the sample stage and one side of the thermoelectric module and between the other side of the module and the "heat sink" in my experiment. It seems to work very very well - the sample stage temperature stays very constant, and I can heat or cool the stage very rapidly.

So, in conclusion, I'm using Arctic Silver thermal compound for both its intended purpose and something else, and it does its job well in both applications. It's great stuff and I would buy it again without thinking twice.

PS: don't bother paying for the special Arctic Silver cleanup kits - all you need is rubbing alcohol (isopropanol/isopropyl alcohol/2-propanol/IPA) and some clean, lint-free cloth.

Digital camera Review: Heat convection

There other products, even better product. If you are on a budget, then this compound works fine. If you can afford the more expensive, better heat transfer char, I would recommend it.

Digital camera Review: I guess it works ok...
Summary: 3 Stars

My cpu isn't frying, so I guess it's working.... I haven't noticed a significant drop in cpu temps like so many other people claim to have with this product. I have used this on at least 5 processors too. I've tried different methods of applying this stuff and re-seating the HSF, but I never can get results that many other people claim to get.
