Digital camera Review: A superb, survival/camping/combat tool

The knife was one of man's first tools. There are literally hundreds of knife designs today. But if you had to choose only one knife, you would be hard pressed to find a better one than this "Tanto" bladed Boker. It's extremely well designed; it's a useable size, a little more than 16 ounces, uses good 440C steel for the blade that's full tang (very important for strength).
The balance point is right between the guard and the handle, giving it a very nice feel while chopping, cutting, or slicing. It can be used as a combat weapon, or lashed to a wooden shaft for a deadly spear, or as a hammer, a log splitter, kindling maker, pry bar, deicer, wedge...the list goes on.
The sheath is solid cordura and has twelve tie holes, plus a drain hole. It can be attached to your person or backpack several ways, and it has two snaps for the handle, not just one.
This is a knife that will last for years, if not generations. Mine came sharp enough to shave with (had fun slicing up the Fed-Ex box!) A bit of "permenant lock tight" on the handle screws would be a good idea. Or not; remove the handles and tie up some paracord. Same thickness. Those notches on the edge of the handle will hold paracord quite well. Again, great design.
I have many knives, and except maybe for whittling, this is now my favorite utilitarian, do-all knife. I may get a few more of these knives for gifts. I like them that much. Great job, Boker!
