I was debating what storage unit to get for my blu-rays; and I finally decided to give the Typhoon Spinner a try based on the reviews and its price. The assembly is relatively simple, but sometimes the instructions are not very clear on where the screws should go when attaching the pieces. Also, it would be nicer if all the steel rods are bolted into the top and bottom panels instead of just 4 of the 8, but the end product is sturdy enough, so I guess it's okay. It holds 180 blu-rays and takes up very little floor space. The spinner works great and it only needs 2" extra clearance for rotation. If I need more DVD storage space in the future, I'll probably get the Typhoon Spinner again.Digital camera Review: Great value swivel stand

This is an excellent swivel stand to hold all your media, including books, dvds, blu rays, games and whatever else you want to fit in it. I love the swivel design, as I live in an apartment and need to make the most out of the little space I have.
It was very easy to set up the stand, taking no more than about 30 minutes. I will say that I agree that there needs to be better packaging for this item. When I received it, the edges of the box were very worn. I was afraid that some of the panels were going to be scratched, and sure enough I had a mark or two. Luckily once it was set up, you could not see them so I was fine with it.
For less than $40, this is an excellent deal. It does the job, looks great and is pretty well constructed for the price.

I almost bought one of those tall, wire storage racks. I'm glad I didn't. I've got several DVD's, CD's, XBOX, PS3 and PS2 games. The wire rack is limited to the size and shape it can hold well. This thing will hold just about anything. There's lots of space so I can put each kind on it's own shelf. It was easy to assemble and rotates nicely even on out rug. It is very tight burber (sp?) though.
It may not be quite 'living room' quality for some people but it's not priced that way either.

I spent a day, I kid you not, looking for the perfect DVD holder. Not just on Amazon...many places. What I wanted was harder to find than I had thought.
I wanted a DVD holder for my workout room. We have over 100 fitness DVDs and Wii games. A holder that houses this many games and DVDs but doesn't impede the space...not easy to find unless you want one big or unatractive. I did find holders that would hold only single DVD boxes or cases, not thick ones or double sets, or others that were had a horizontal stack where you had to remove most of the stack just to get one out, or ones that took up a large chunk of the wall or space or that were ugly...my quest was time consuming.
I decided on this one not only because I saw it on other websites for far more money, but because it looked aesthetically pleasing, while being functional...It spins so you can house more DVDs in less space. And, most importantly, it was cheaper than most that hold this many while having the other qualities I wanted as well.
Bottom line is this looks like something that costs way more than it does, it wasn't hard for this chick to put together with no testosterone around to help, (grin), it's sturdier than I expected, especially since I put it together! (mine is very sturdy.) Most importantly for me, it looks great but helps me find what I need very quickly. The various shelves also allowed me to organize each DVD. If you were organizing movies, for example, you could have romantic comedies on one shelf, dramas on another, classics, etc. As for me, I have strength training mixed on one, strength training upper body on another, lower body on another, aerobics on another shelf, cardio and strength on another section on the back, Wii fitness games on another, Wii fun games on another...and anything else not in those categories, like Yoga. There are 4 shelves on front and 4 on back which makes organization, (even if something takes up a shelf and a half or two shelves), easier. Very nice that I can have cd cases that are small mixed in with my big dvd cases, double dvd cases, or dvd cases that are shelved in a box.
Negatives: Don't expect it to come put together. You'll need to set aside some time to read the directions and put it together right, but it was worth it and not daunting for me.
