For the price the product is OK, but, before anything is put on it after assembly, be prepared to attach, with screws, at least the two middle shelves to the sides, or the unit will spread causing the shelves to fall.
This is what happened to me-after I had packed the unit with CDs and DVDs, unfortunately.

We received one of these exact shelves as a gift, so when we needed more DVD space we went ahead and bought one ourselves. They look nice enough, BUT, the sides are not sturdy enough, or maybe the shelves are not long enough, the shelves will fall down and dump all the DVDS if you bump it. We are going to try to wood glue the sides to each of the shelves, because it seems the sides bow out a bit. We'll see if that works. But money was tight and it was the cheapest one I could find that held so much, so, overall if I was in a money crunch again I would buy it again. Just be prepared to be fixing your DVDs occasionally.Digital camera Review: You get what you pay for...

I have three of these cabinets. They are made from cheap material, but work very well at holding cd's,movies,and even books. I have moved three times with my shelves, and they are still in good condition. Not the best product.. but they work well, are durable and are pretty cheap compared to other shelving units.Digital camera Review: cheap cheap cheap

I too thought this would make a good dvd rack. Half-way through the H's in my alphabatiation of our collection the side bowed out and everything came crashing down.
Do yourself a big favor, buy something a lot better and sturdier.

This product has already fallen apart, and all I have in it is DVD's. I would not recommened this product to anyone, since it is junk.
