For under $60.00 - should have known this storage unit was not going to last. Only have 1 1/2 shelves used with DVD's - the shelves constantly fall... pegs that hold the shelves in are small and useless...
Spend a little more dough and get something that will last.

I wasn't very impressed with this flismy, non-sturdy DVD/CD storage unit.
The material is very cheap.
I'd invest more money in getting something more substantial & don't waste your money on this item.

We had this old, broken little book case that we were using to put all our dvds in. It was falling apart and did not match any of the decor in my apartment. So, I bought this because it was simple, cheap, and would do what I needed it to do. Also, I bought it because my apartment is small and this was small enough to fit where I wanted it.
There are good and bad things about this unit.
The Good -
- fits into small spaces
- easy to put together (took me about 10 minutes.. although I love putting together furniture, always volunteer to do it, so I've gotten pretty good at it.. but really, it was very simple)
- simple look
- ordered it on tuesday evening, it arrived on thursday morning! fast shipping.
The Bad -
- not sure how sturdy it is? it will definitely hold dvds and cds, but I wouldn't put anything too heavy in it. I haven't tried it so I can't say for sure, but I just personally wouldn't use it for more then dvds, games, cds, and other light weight items.
- since mine is sitting on carpet, it is a little wobbly. also, the back is just cheap particle board. (this can all be easily reinforced.. I don't know how but that's what my carpenter fiance said haha)
- you have to take out 2 shelves if you want to store ONLY dvds/games. the extra 2 shelves will go on but only leave enough space for cds, unless you lay the dvds down instead of stand them up. (doesn't really bother me since I didn't need those 2 extra shelves anyway)
The other comment I have is I notice the price keeps changing every few days. I battled back and forth for about a week decided if I wanted to buy this. I'm glad I did because now it's about $20 more than what I paid! I would keep an eye on the item if you are going to buy it and wait for the price to drop, and when it does, snatch it up.
I would definitely buy another one if I needed more DVD storage, but I don't. I wouldn't pay more than $40 for it though, because you could probably find something else.
All in all though, I am glad I bought it.

Ok, so compare to other shelving units, this one was a third of the price. Also a third of the quality. It does the job, but if you have children, I do not recommend it. It's a little wabbley and not too sturdy. It looks nice though and beats what we were using before... boxes!!
