Digital camera reviews of Atlantic Wave 1386 Click to enlarge Wave DVD Tower (Black Steel/Cherry Wood Base )

Digital camera Review: Satisfying my DVD collector fetish
Summary: 5 Stars

I received the first one of these racks as a gift a few years back, bought a second one a couple of years ago and tonight I am on Amazon to buy my third. First let me say I am very suprised they still have this model around and thats a good thing. I like to keep the same look...because when you start mixing and matching it just doesn't look right. I have both racks that I own right now filled to capacity (with an extra ten DVDs on the floor in front!!!) so time to buy more. I like the looks of them and when filled all the way up the focus is the dvd boxes (I like that), not the stand. The only part that you truly notice are the four wooden balls on the top and the base.Assembly was easy and pretty straight forward. It comes with 2 metal rack parts, a wooden base, wooden balls for top decoration, and plastic nuts/insert deals (??) to attch the rack to the base . The curved metal rack part, the majority of it, is actually two parts the slide together to form "the wave".The bottom portion of the metal rack is threaded on 4 points. There are 4 holes in the base which you slide the threaded portions through, then you screw in flush to the base, the plastic insert's (i kinda wish these parts were metal)from underneath that locks the base to the rack. Then GENTLY tap the wooden balls on the top. I say gently becuase I have cracked them before BUT a quick call to the company and they sent me extra for free.I know my description of the assembly sounds complicated but it really is not. The only thing I don't like about this style of rack is when a DVD is removed it is very hard to get it back where it came from. That is just the nature of these type of racks in which DVDs rest on one another nothing bad about the item itself.Never had any problems with it.
OK enough rambling time for me to go and buy.

Digital camera Review: Very nice set for price
Summary: 5 Stars

I just recieved this in the mail about an hour ago. I had it up holding DVD's in roughly 5 minutes, no more. 4-step instructions, nothing difficult to put together. The little wooden balls on the top fit just fine compared to some other problems that people on here have had.

Looks very good, simple stand, cheap, worth it for the price!

Cons:

It is solid on hardwood, but on my carpet it is wobbly. you are given 4 little rubberized stand things to put it on, and they do not do the greatest job, but for the price you pay for it, and the looks, i do not think you can do much better.

Box sets do not work the best in here, probably have to move the wire some to get all of them to fit in lengthways.

Overall:

Very good bang for buck stand!

Digital camera Review: Good for an apartment or dorm
Summary: 3 Stars

I ordered this for my house as a quick fix to my rapidly growing anime collection. Now that I have moved into a new apartment, I think this is the perfect thing for it. It does fall apart if you try to move it, though.

It is easy to assemble and the only tool you need is the little metal thing that comes in the box. It did take a little bit of doing to attach it to the base and put the little "stoppers" on the end to prevent it from detaching because they weren't technically screws, so they had to be twisted and pushed on at the same time. Also, it took force to get the balls to go onto the top end of the rack, but once I finished with it, it looked wonderful.

I have a lot of anime, and it will hold some boxed sets (like the slimmer ones that unfold and have all of the DVD's arranged that way) but will not hold the larger boxes that hold seperate DVD boxes ("artboxes"). I don't have many of those, though, so that wasn't too big of a deal. But, of you have a lot of these, you'll probably want to skip this model.

Digital camera Review: Very nice DVD tower
Summary: 4 Stars

I really liked this DVD tower. It was simple to put together. it took less then 5 minutes to put together and the way that it curves adds style to the entertainment center and livingroom.

Digital camera Review: Product Description Misleading
Summary: 1 Stars

At the image of the item on this webpage, Amazon describes this item as a "1316 110 CD" rack. CD? The image shows DVDs in the rack, and its description later in the webpage says it holds 74 "DVDs" -- which is also consistent with its reviews being for a "DVD" rack. But . . .

Shouldn't have to take a chance that Amazon might take my order for an item called a "CD" rack at face value and sends a "CD" rack when I want a "DVD" rack. Not unlikely since Amazon also lists elsewhere a rack with the identical name ("Atlantic 1316 110 CD") which does have an image showing the rack containing CDs -- and its reviews are for a "CD" rack.

So I'm just giving it one star for now. Sounds like a real nice DVD rack based on all the good reviews -- and a nice "DVD" rack is what I want.
