DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
The item works as described and I haven't had any functional problems thus far. It always switches automatically and the manual switching works fine too. I have an xbox 360, n64, gamecube, and a dvd player hooked up to a 27" Sony Trinitron television. The first day I hooked everything up I didn't notice any distortion in the picture and was very pleased with the product. It worked well for about 2 weeks then I started to notice very faint 2" lines scanning from the bottom to the top of the screen. At first they were very minimal and were only visible in the black spots of the picture. The lines have become increasingly worse over the past 3 months and now the scanning lines are visible at all times and completely distort the picture. I have tested all of the components by plugging them directly into the television to test whether any of them were faulty or whether it was the TV and they all of the components worked perfectly. I didn't think it was possible to make such a simple product so worthless.

Atlona's 4-in 1-out component, s-video and av switcher is the ideal box for all of your devices, offering both high-definition video / standard definition and analog/digital audio switching capability. The AT-AVSC41 can be operated in 2 modes: Auto Mode or Manual Mode. Auto Mode: AT-AVSC41 will switch to a first available source, basically if the source is turned on, then switcher will automatically sync to it, as soon as you turn the source off and turn another one on, the switcher will jump to next source available.
