I'd had my eye on the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700s for some time. I mean they are a Stereophile recommended product and one of the Mac magazines rated them the best full sized iPod can on the market. So when I saw them for $91 shipped it was a no brainer. Now, I have several cans and I won't embarrass myself mentioning cost, because the ATH-AD700s are my new full time cans. Whether I use them with one of my $1k+ amps or straight from my iPod classic, iPod Touch, or iMac, these cans sing and sing and sing. The midrange is to die for, and the bass is tight and just right. The treble is airy, maybe a little rolled off, but that works magic with everything I play, such as Alternative Rock, JamBands, Folk, Jazz and some electronica. I have a pair of Senn 595s and I thought that they were the best bargain I had every purchased. I still love them but the ATH-AD700s kick them all kinds of ways in the bass and are much more melodic in the mids and smoother on top. Move your mouse and your fingers as fast as you can and get these. They are that good. I even like their purple mesh though some may not. They do not require more than 50 hours break-in in my opinion. They are oh so comfortable they completely disappear which is quite a feat for a 53mm driver can. Still can't believe the deal!!!!!!!!!
