Digital camera Review: Fine shredder for normal household use

I bought this shredder to shred a couple grocery bagsful of records. I've never owned a shredder before, so it took a little practice to figure out the limits of this little machine. I jammed it a couple times in the beginning and ended up having to pick the jammed pieces out of the blades with a pair of long tweezers, but once I figured out that it would only do 4-5 pages at a time and that feeding crumpled or wrinkled pieces risked a jam unless fed separately and carefully, I breezed along without any problems. I heeded others comments about not using it for too long at a time and never had any problems with overheating. The receptacle is not large, about the size of a small bathroom wastebasket, but I see this as a plus. It's extremely easy to lift off the shredder and decant the shreds into a larger bag or place the shredder over a bigger container. The small size makes storage much easier when not in use. Before I start my review...It should be added to the description that you should buy SHREDDER OIL for this product! The instructions say it should be used and based on the heat that is produced in the shredding mechanism I would say it is a must! I went with the "Fellowes Powershred Shredder Oil" and you just oil some pieces of paper and run them through the machine every 200 or 300 sheets of paper.
PROS:
-Can fit bigger sized baskets (which is a must)
-Can do up to 8 pieces of paper at a time which I found was about the size of most of my junk mail
-Very simple to use
CONS:
-Small basket
-No oil included
I ran this for the first time on some old bills I had from the mid 90s. Went though probably about 400 sheets of paper (envelopes and all). Only issue is I had to switch to a much larger basket because the one that is included is way to small for anything over a very small job. The shredder has a little side arm that extends to fit larger baskets. Very impressed with the machine and it will handle all of my needs for under $30! I would recommend for anyone in need a light to medium duty shredder.

Not the best paper shredder if you want to eliminate years worth of documents in one day. You frequently have to take breaks to let the machine cool off and start running again. I needed a small home office shredder to replace an old one that broke so I cheaped out and bought the Universal 6-Sheet (see my review on that piece of junk). I returned that and bought this Aurora and man, what a difference. I've only had it for a day and have not had a chance to use the CD shredder (but I did shred a credit card). This is a quality shredder and I am very happy with it. My only criticism is that the basket is far too small so I use it on top of a medium size bin instead. It has the capability to extend so it can fit on a variety of other baskets or bins. Having said that, the extender arm is a little flimsy and seems to be struggling to hold its own wait when extended (sort of like if you were sitting in a chair and had your foot up on something with your leg straight and someone was sitting on your knee - ouch). Hopefully it will hold up. But the shredder itself is high quality from what I can see.Digital camera Review: Gets the job done

This shredder works, in that it does what it says, it will in fact shred. However I have had it for one day and have already had an issue with the auto feature not wanting to shut off. I had been shredding a large batch of receipts and it would keep running, flipping it into reverse wouldn't help. I finally got the auto to shut off by running 4 or 5 full size sheets of paper through. I assume that this cleared the sensor or something. But I would be hesitant to use the auto setting and then leave the room, because if it kept running like that without you knowing it would eventually burn up the motor.
