Digital camera Review: A high priced, high end filter that works well.

I keep this permanently attached to my Canon EF70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM lens to protect the lens front element from dust, grime and scratches. There are cheaper filters available, but they may not reduce reflections as well from what I have read. This is multi-coated to reduce those reflections, and I haven't seen any reflections in my photos, so I guess it works. Is this that much better than lower priced filters? I don't know, to be honest. But this one works well on my lens, so I will be getting another to use on my kit lens. Maybe I could get by with cheaper, but I don't want to take the chance. I do notice this filter is crystal clear, while less expensive UV filters have a barely perceptable 'tan' tint to the glass. Overall, this is a low price to protect my lenses and give me reflection free photos.
My only gripe (beside the price) is the case for this filter is rather large and square, so it doesn't fit in my camera bag pockets. So, I leave the case at home, when I really like to keep all my photo stuff together in one bag if possible.
