The BOSE In-Ear Stereo Headphones are exceptional in sound, comfort and noise cancelling capability. I felt I lost a lot of sound using the ear buds that came stock with my iPod, plus I had a difficult time keeping them in my ear. The Bose In-Ear comes with three sizes of silicone ear buds and one will be a perfect fit. Sound great, and are reasonably comforable, but they are Bose after all. Bought for gift for my wife. She likes them. I listened a few times to compare against my Sony active noise-cancelling in-ear phones. They both have their advantages; the Bose in quiet environments, the Sony's for travelling in cars or planes to block out the "whoosh" and to some less extent, the annoying conversations of those in close proximity.Digital camera Review: BOSE in-ear headphones ~ The Definitive Guide

Well.. I just got ahold of BOSE TriPort IE In-Ear Headphones about 30 minutes ago and I thought i'd shoot my feedback to this forum, since I did review the comments herein before purchase.
I bought these babies to use with my iPod Mini. I've gone through a few headphones in search for the ultimate iPod headphones (in ear) - the "Apple Bass Booster" headphones, high end (not cheap) Sony Headfhones, and.. finally I have found the perfect headphones to compliment my iPod.
Forget about the negative posts, they don't do justice to these headphones. These headphones are ideal for the iPod. The Bass, I have only heard Bass like this from my $320AUD Sennheisher DJ Headphones (literally).
From what experienced thus far, disabling the EQ within the iPod gives perfect sound quality.. The Bass DOES NOT distort at full volume with Bass Booster enabled, however the treble seems to lack a little while using this EQ configuration. Without Bass Booster, the Bass and Treble are perfectly balanced and the headphones can hit really low frequencies to give that "hidden Bass" you can only hear with quality speakers.
Bose, you have held your reputation IMHO.
Thumbs up from me, forget about the other posts and get yourself one if you are considering it. You won't be disappointed..
Digital camera Review: Balanced sound yet horrible noise isolation

I bought these headphones with great expectations but after using them for less than 10 minutes my disappointment grew by the minute. On the plus side, the Bose in-ear earphones have a much balanced sound than others in the same price range. You can hear details in songs that you did not know existed.
On the minus side, the sound isolation is the worst I have seen for ANY earphones on that price range. The apple in-ear headphones are much better in this respect. I understand that this is not a noise-canceling product, but they definitely should have come up with a better design to block background noise a little better. There is nothing I hate most than picking up conversations from other people while I am riding the subway. THIS IS A MAJOR DRAWBACK IN QUALITY PERCEPTION FOR A SUCH A HIGHLY REGARDED BRAND.

I bought these earbuds about 7 months ago. After a few months, I had lost most of the plastic ear tips because they would fall off so easily. I contacted Bose, and they offered to send out a whole new set of ear buds and said they were designing better ones that were due out in a few months. I decided to wait and contacted them again after the date they gave me. They had an easy-to-use web form online to fill out so I could get my new earbud tips, and I got them within a week. I have been extremely happy with the new design. They have not fallen off once yet, and this is after weeks of "abuse" of begin entangled in my purse and thrown around the house.
As far as sound goes, I'm no audiophile, so I can't speak to that. It sounds good hooked up to my iPod, and better than some headphones I've had in the past. I guess I'd sum it up as: they do their job and have the nice customer service people at Bose backing them up.
