Digital camera reviews of BOSE (R) In-Ear Stereo Headphones

Digital camera Review: Best Sound Ever
Summary: 5 Stars

Bose has done it again. The Bose In-Ear Headphones are the best sound quality in ear headphones that I have ever heard. They are well worth the money.

Digital camera Review: Best and most comfortable
Summary: 5 Stars

I had read reviews of these Bose earbuds and they weren't all that glowing, but because they were described as "not fitting into the ear canals directly", I thought they might fit me better. I can't wear regular in-ear earbuds for more than a short while. I took a chance and found that they really are comfortable for long periods but more than that, the sound was terrific. They were critiqued as being a little bass heavy but I don't find that at all. These sound better to me than the even more expensive ones that are always recommended. The fit is partly the reason but the dynamic range is really broad and full with a crisp high end and a solid bass.

Digital camera Review: Best for comfortability, quality, and ease of use
Summary: 5 Stars

I am writing this review for those who are wondering if the Bose ear buds are worth $99.00. I have tried every marginally priced earphone, including the various Phillips brands, and the $50 Sony ear buds. I have even tried the Shure $99 ear buds. All (except the Shure) were unsatisfactory for various reasons.

I like the Bose because the sound quality is distinctly better (it revolutionized my listening experience), it is easy to insert, extremely comfortable, doesn't pop out. The only down side is that there is no sound isolation. Nevertheless, I literally heard aspects of my CDs that I didn't before purchasing these ear buds. Although I was warned that the bass would be insufficient, I didn't have any problem whatsoever with the bass.

(Please see my review of the Shure ear buds, another brand that I think is comparable).

Digital camera Review: Best in Ear Headphones Out There
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been searching for an in ear replacement for my apple headphones since my first IPod. I purchased some Shure headphones from an Apple store and was sadly disappointed. They had many different attachments to fit the ear, but none of them fit comfortably. The Bose in-ear headphones have a nicer style for the rubber piece that is on more of a slant than an entire big piece of rubber in your ear. I liked the fact that when I was listening to these at nice volume levels people around me couldn't here any sound coming from them. The headphones also have very rich sound at lower volume levels. The highest volume is probably too loud for the average user. I have been a happy customer of the noise cancelling headphones that Bose has sold for years, but haven't liked having such a bulky set to carry with me on planes and around town. The in ear set sufficiently cancel outside noise and provide incredible sound. Most earbud type headphones are useless on planes because of all of the cabin noise. If you want great sound, privacy (nobody else hearing everything you're listening to), and a comfortable smart design, these are for you. No buyers remorse here.

Digital camera Review: Best so far
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm a headphone guy, and am perpetually searching for just the right listening solution.

A few years ago I splurged on a pair of Bose QuietComfort 2s: great sound but too big and bulky for my carry-on--not a great solution. My Apple iPod earbuds are uncomfortable and have pathetic sound quality--an awful solution. Several months ago I bought a pair of Sennheiser CX300 sound-isolating earbuds: great sound quality at a great price but very uncomfortable after wearing them for a half-hour or so; and what's up with the asymmetrical cord?--not the best solution. Then last week I broke down and bought the Bose in-ear headphones. Finally, a decent solution.

The sound quality is not perfect but generally quite good across the entire spectrum. These are by far the most comfortable in-ear headphones I've ever used. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say the fit is poor and they easily fall out of your ears. If you take a few minutes and install the correct-sized tips, they are very secure and will sit comfortably in your ears for hours. The price is a bit high but worth it to me, especially when considering the high quality of Bose customer service. I say buy them.
