This Belkin 12-outlet surge protector is the best one I've ever used. The cord is 10 feet long - most others are 6 or 8 feet long. The surface of the surge protector is long and thin. The 3 outlets along each of the two sides have space that's wide enough to accomodate extra large adapters. I have never seen this before. With my prior surge protectors, the larger adapters actually overlapped and took up 2 outlets. With this new Belkin, those larger adapters are no problem as they'll use only 1 outlet each with no overlapping. Regular sized plugs can go into the interior 6 outlets. Item has proven to be very convenient so far with the multiple outlets, coaxial protection, ethernet connect as well as phone/ modem connect. Lights show whether unit is getting clean, grounded power. No serious power cuts/ surges as yet to see how well it works. A surge protector will protect your precious computer, as well as help you save electricity by easily turning all electronics off with one touch. I love the Belkin 12-Outlet due to its design that allows you to put large adaptors on the sides. This allows you to get the most out of every outlet.
Other single file outlets don't have space for the large adapters that will end up taking 2-3 precious spaces.
I have 2 outlets that I use. One for all the electronics I use often (computer, lights, etc.), and one for electronics I charge once a while (cell phone, camera, etc.). This way, it is easy to turn each outlet on and off to save more electricity when the equipments aren't being used.

Received this product and as soon as I started to use it some little parts began to come off. Some plugs did not work ... tried to look inside and it was built in such a way to make impossible to repair it.
A REAL PIECE OF JUNK ... threw it away !!!!!!

Over the years, my desk has turned into a fire hazard and I was using 3 6 outlet power strips to keep my computer and all sorts of electronics powered. But it was a mess and a fire hazard and if there was ever a spike, my gear would be fried.
So I went ahead and purchased the 10' adapter to get the 12 outlet version. The 6 outlets on the side were spaced enough that I could plug things that had larger transformers into them and not run into any problems.
Overall, I'm happy. My desk is less of a fire hazard and I'm glad that I have a proper surge protector and I can find which outlets go to what gear.
