This fits my Dell 1720 beautifully, with room to spare for my papers and even a textbook. It's lightweight and easy to carry. The included bag keeps my cords neat and ensures nothing scratches the laptop. The inside pockets are great to hold my pens and jumpdrive. This bag is big enough for my Dell Studio 17, plus has space for documents, a magazine or two, foldable headphones, pens, iPod, AND my Blackberry. It's very stylish, has lots of pocket space, and overall is an excellent bag. I highly recommend this bag to anyone who has a 17" laptop and is having a hard time finding a bag to fit it. This bag is, by far, superior to the other laptop bags I tried out. First, it is hard enough to find a 17" bag, and when you do, it's so ridiculously expensive. I bought this bag on a hunch and am so glad I did. It is perfect. I use my laptop, and the bag, everyday to and from 2 different jobs. The strap is solid and the bag distributs the weight well. I'm 5'6 and the bag falls just below my hip, with the strap adjusted to the smallest length - comfortable and out of the way.
The interior compartment for the laptop is a velvet-like finish - very soft and protective. The bag has inner pockets for pencils, credit cards, cell phones, etc. There is an exterior pocket to hold other things, including an MP3 player. The bag comes with a smaaler bag to hold AC cords, and that bag stores in the front most pocket for easy access. The back of the bag has another pocket with velcroe closure, which I use to store my "X-pad" (a laptop cooling pad - which I also highly recommend).
Everything fits perfectly, for the most part. If you are someone that tends to carry files or a pile of papers, having the AC adapter, etc in the very front pocket takes up some storage and it can get cramped inside the main compartment. There have been times I've opted to keep the AC bag separate to have more room for files. Other than that though, for the price, the construction, the durability and the protection, this bag is the best thing on the market. By far. And as for it having a "boring" look...I was looking for something other than the traditional black, but nothing too "crazy." I think the red adds a nice touch, without it being obnoxious. And I must not be the only one because I have gotten received more compliments on this bag than I can count.
Bottom LIne: If you have a 17" laptop you want to protect, buy it.

I recently bought this bag to pair with my new Dell Inspiron notebook. Dell and Belkin has color coordinated notebooks, bags, travel mice, hubs, ect. This was my first Belkin buy and I am so happy with my choice. The bag is made very well with an extremely durable fabric, the shoulder strap is very wide, which creates less pressure on your collar and shoulder. An added bonus is the carrying bag for your power supply (which also can carry your mouse and flash drive). There are many little pockets and compartments to carry a composition book, small binder, spiral notebook, pens, calculator, ect. This bag is great for any student or professional that doesn't want the generic sleeve or bag. Basically, great looking product that is made well for a good price from a well respected company!
