Digital camera reviews of Belkin 7-Foot Stereo Link Cable for iPodDigital camera Review: All Show AND Go Summary: 5 Stars
I decided to pay a little more for one of these since the last one I bought (different cable altogether) lost the right channel capability. This item arrived very quick. I have it hooked up to a 15+ year old home theater receiver and it works very well. I am extremely satisfied. The cable is very thick which means it shouldn't lose too much of a signal, which is an awesome thing. This cable even looks nice!
If you are unsure of what it does, it takes any device (iPod, PSP, MP3 Player, and laptop are a very few of the plethora that this can connect) that has headphone capability and can push the signal to your home theater (using the Red and White connectors). It is very useful in my opinion.
Other than that, there isn't too much to say about it, except that the price was awesome too.
It works, it's well constructed, it's cheap, it looks great. What more can you possibly ask for in a simple cable? Not too much.
Digital camera Review: All show, no go Summary: 1 Stars
PROS:
- Looks nice
- Feels very solid
- RCA plugs provide a very tight fit
- Thick sheilding
CONS:
- Lost the left channel after brief use
- The barrels are too smooth - hard to remove RCA plugs from receiver
These cables look good and they feel very solid on the outside, but the innards don't bear that out. Mine failed after a few days when the 3.5" stereo plug dropped the left channel channel. The RCA plugs are very tight fitting which is good, but the ultra-smooth chrome finish on the barrels makes it impossible to pull them out of the jacks without wiggling them (bad for the jacks) or using a pair of pliers. The barrels should be textured to provide better grip. Who cares if they're not shiny?
I replaced them with a Hosa unit at a fraction of the cost and all is well.
Digital camera Review: Basic Ipod to stereo connection Summary: 3 Stars
Straight forward Ipod connection to stereo. You may have move volume on your Ipod to maximum, then use your stereo to control your volume. This option doesn't charge your Ipod but that is reflected in the price.
Digital camera Review: Belkin 7-Foot Stereo Link Cable for iPod Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this so we could play our iPod through a stereo wherever we might be rather than haul around a bunch of CDs. The sound quality is great. Just make sure you plug it in all the way or you will hear static.
Digital camera Review: Belkin Saves Classic Amplifier from Death! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a GORGEOUS Setton amplifier from France left over from the 70's ... it had been in storage for many many years. I wanted to 're-purpose' it ... beautiful construction, base/treble/mid knobs, support for 3 sets of speakers (a,b,c) ... very unique for that time period ... analogue signal strength meters ... far better ergonomics than the 'tiny button' crap sold today. Then bought indoor/outdoor speakers for garage and patio, plugged Belkin cable into TAPE MONITOR input (phono and other inputs produced a weak signal, hence weak volume) and plugged into full size classic iPod ... I couldn't be happier! I can use 'a' speakers only, b, or a+b ... no noise, just music, cable quality is outstanding. I like the cable length, enough slack to provide flexibility. Only problem was I had to really push the connector firmly into the iphone to get a connection ... you might buy an iPhone specific headphone adapter, then plug the Belkin into that. The iPod connection was perfect. To be in the garage, listening to the Beatles, looking at the analogue meters gracefully bouncing back and forth on my 1st amplifier that I slaved away for decades ago as a youngster? ... priceless.
