Fantastic! This was a great purchase. Quickly swapped out old surge protector with this Belkin surge strip.Wish I had purchased years ago.Cable box and router are plugged into the always on sockets.TV,dvd, xbox, floor lamp, and reciever into the switced sockets.Flip the switch before bed and everything that I want to stays off till the next evening. The remote works from any where in the house.
Digital camera Review: I love Belkin's Conserve Surge Protector Summary: 5 Stars
I needed a surge protector for my office to consolidate several older, smaller ones but also had a need for always-on outlets for digital phone and wireless gateway. Belkin has it all here, along with a coveted remote switch, so I no longer have to crawl behind the desk to click off the power at the end of the day. Its surge protection was recently tested with a local power issue and it passed with flying colors. I recommend this product and look forward to the next iterations of it.
Digital camera Review: Nice idea, poorly executed. Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this so that I could turn off all the computer peripherals and their power wasting transformers under my desk when quitting each day. Unfortunately, the first one was defective and the replacement was intermittent. Two out of two doesn't build confidence especially when expensive devices are plugged into it. I can't recommend this unit. I found a really nice alternative - Bye Bye Standby (also sold by Amazon). Half the price and they work reliably.
Digital camera Review: Shoddy quality of remote Summary: 1 Stars
I really loved the concept of this power strip.
I used the strip to completely power-off my TV, audio gear and game systems at night and during the day to help save a few watts of power. In that respect, it worked wonderfully. Our electric bill dropped by about $15 a month.
Where this product fails though is with the remote click device. In short, its lifespan is way too short.
Our first clicker failed after about two months, at which time I shipped it back to Belkin for a free replacement (I paid for shipping). Within a month, the replacement clicker failed too. After the second time, I decided that I'm not going to waste my time with it any longer.
With the clicker not working, the product fails to live up to its purpose: making it easy to save electricity by cutting off power to your electronics.
It's now a $45 power strip. Save your money and look for another solution.
Digital camera Review: Some issues Summary: 3 Stars
I ordered two of these and one just wouldn't work with the remote, no matter what I did. I contacted Belkin, and got an RMA for return. This took quite an extensive amount of time, as their automated web forms for returns did not list the model number within the drop down menus.I had to make 3 sepereate calls, to make it through the phone prompting and loops to be connected to someone who could help. Finally they sent me a replacement, but I had to pay for shipping to return the bad unit.
The replacement and the original unit worked perfectly. I could of gotten one of those statistically bad Units, but what a pain getting it replaced for something that never worked out of the box, and ended up costing me extra money. I would say the working product may be a five star, but with my experience with Belkin I can only give a three star. I pray to not have a unit fail within warranty just so I don't have to be out more money or go through the experience again. I will look for another manufacturer product next time because of this experience.
