Digital camera reviews of Belkin F1UP0001 Wireless USB Print ServerDigital camera Review: Great Print Server Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great piece of equipment that can be used as a wireless or direct network connection. Installation was easy, but the user needs to understand how networks work. The instuctions are clear, but the user must follow them as they are presented. I believe this server is no longer available, which is unfortunate. I would seriously consider Belkins wireless hub as an alternative.
Digital camera Review: Great wireless print server, but.... Summary: 4 Stars
I had this working perfectly right out of the box using a Microsoft MN-500 802.11b wireless router. Wireless printing is the cat's meow by the way. (The printer can then be put away in a cabinet for example, which really makes the house/apartment look less like an office.)Then I took it to another house which had a D-Link 524+ 802.11b/g wireless router, and it simply would not recongnize the Belkin at all. This is obviously a D-Link issue, but can anyone tell me how to determine which wireless products will work with other wireless products BEFORE buying them? The Belkin unit is very nice though, and recommended.
Digital camera Review: Horrible Wireless Product, Great Wired Product Summary: 2 Stars
I give it 2 stars simply because it has a lot of neat features such as FTP printing, etc., but I only give it 2 stars because it is good for a wired print server, I think 1.5 stars would better suit it. As the CEO of a computer repair business, I install a lot of corporate networks, as well as home networks. I would NEVER EVER use this product in a wireless setting, as it claims it is designed for. It only supports WEP, and not WPA??? I would NEVER compromise my network, or anyone else's network just for this product! WEP was proved unsecure years ago. This is the first 802.11G product I have ever seen that doesn't support WPA. Might as well not even turn the security on if you are going to use WEP. The only thing WEP is good for is stopping your neighbor who is a computer idiot from accidently getting on your network because he has no clue what he is doing. Any 802.11G product that doesn't support WPA is not worth owning. This product, for all intensive purposes, is not a wireless print server, more like a wired print server with antennas.
Digital camera Review: I almost sent it back. Summary: 4 Stars
I wanted to access my Okidata Laser 5200n with wireless notebooks and my HP desktop. I have the Belkin PreN in a room that is quite far and I get good reception in the Den where the Desktop and printer are located. I did as instructed in the Wizard but the printer was not recognized. I called Tech support and they were nice but ultimately after their instructions, the computer did not recognize the IP address and I got nowhere. "Send it back" was the tech's solution... "it probably doesn't recognize the Okidata". I tried one more instruction with the Wizard before I gave up. I connected the server directly to the router and the computer recogized the IP three rooms away. I disconnected, took the Server to the room, connected the printer to the Belkin and all worked just fine. Once I did one computer, I loaded the program on two others and now I can access the Okidata with an HP, a Toshiba Notebook, a Sony Notebook, and a Compaq notebook. Now I will try my daughter's MAC and see.

Digital camera Review: Incredible Wireless Print Server! Summary: 5 Stars
After being frustrated beyond belief with D-Link's wireless print server, I finally sent it back and just by chance happened to see Belkin's new offering, the F1UP0001 wireless print server. Without a doubt, Belkin has managed to hit a home run with this item. I was literally up and running in ten minutes. It can't get any easier. Do yourself a favor and BUY THIS NOW! Avoid the D-Link like the plague, and just go for the Belkin. It's easy to setup, 54mb instead of 11, and has two ports instead of D-Link's one.
