Keeps your lap cool and is great when using on a couch or bed, where it will really overheat (blocking vents on bottom). It's firm enough to keep air flow under the laptop. I am very happy with this product. It does what I wanted it to do: gets the hot laptop off my lap and elevates the computer. It even has a hollow interior to store things. I bought this stand for my wife and she just loves it. She has tried others and they never live up to their ads. This one does, it is light, well made and comfortable for long periods of web surfing.
