Digital camera Review: Worked forever then croaked!

So, I have used this product for at least two years. It has incased my original iPhone and now my iPhone 3GS. I live in Salt Lake City. It's a very dry climate here. I have never had an issue with the case before. Coincidental or not, I went on a cruise through the Caribbean a few weeks back, after a hard workout I was going to play some volley ball on deck with some friends. I was taking off the armband when one of my friends pointed out that my iphone was about to come crashing out of the case. The seam split all the way down, there was my iphone dangling... Scary. I wonder if the humidity had any part in this? It's gotten wet from workouts of course, but never saturated the way it would on a cruise.
I see the armband is only about 20 dollars on Amazon, I believe I bought this in a Apple store or, a Simply Mac store for around 60. Anyway, I gave this product three out of five stars because I did get a lot of use out of it, but that is a real concern (the seam, especially knowing that the problem will likely occur during an activity when that arm band is needed most, and needs to be secured. (biking, hiking, etc... all great phone breaker activities).

Listen, this armband is lame. The clear plastic in the front is glued on. The glue on my armband gave out the first day I wore it. I know the Apple one is "bulky" but it is way more sturdy. I guess if I have one good thing to say about this armband, it looks cool, and u can use your iphone screen through the clear plastic.Digital camera Review: didn't last very long

Lasted almost a year and then the clasp that the armband loops through broke. I didn't have any problems with the plastic cover or using the touch screen with the plastic cover. Was worth less than $20 but I wouldn't buy it again.Digital camera Review: great for workouts and bike rides

I have had this for over a year, it is perfect for riding my bike. I use it at the gym, it's a little bulkier than my iPod but works okay.
Most of all it's a secure place for my phone when I do my bike rides. They last about 1 1/2 hour, a variety of surfaces and it stays in place. I've tried mounting it other ways, but have had it fall. This arm band keeps it securely in place and allows me to listen to music while I pedal.
