Digital camera Review: Almost perfect.
Summary: 3 Stars
This item, for the most part is great. First, it comes with a six-foot USB cable. That allows me to put the device in a better spot that directly above the CPU. Also, in testing, I'm able to get near full-speed USB 2.0, which was a concern, despite the mention of such in the product manual.
The above being said, I have three beefs with the unit. First, it's only available in silver. plain black would have been nice. Honestly, the silver/black combo is hideous. Second, I despise blue LEDs on items that are stationary, and in my face. These include USB hubs, car stereos, and laptops. They are painful to look at. Red is gentler on the eyes and doesn't kill night vision if you're working in the dark. My third, and last, complaint is the power cable. While the USB cable is plenty long, the power cable is a standard three feet. It would be nice if it were six feet.
