Digital camera reviews of Belkin Pivot Surge, 8 Outlets, 6ft Cord with Telephone ProtectionDigital camera Review: Bad power switch, suspiciously high number of positive reviews Summary: 1 Stars
After normal use the lighted on/off switch began to malfunction and would shut off the attached devices with no warning. Belkin's tech support department ignored repeated emails to them via their support portal. A google search on "Belkin pleads for mercy over paid Amazon reviews deception" answered my question on how such a product could have so many glowing reviews on Amazon despite what is clearly a design flaw in the on/off switch. A reputable company would issue a product recall here.
Digital camera Review: Best. Surge Protector. Ever. Summary: 5 Stars
I first fell in love with this product in 2007 and have bought an average of two per year since. Not because they needed replacement, mind you, but rather because I seem to continually be running out of outlets. We are definitely a techie generation and if you are even slightly codependent with electronics, you will find yourself faced with the need to purchase a surge protector more than once in your life. I urge you to-every time-buy one of these. First, the price is right; they definitely deliver a product worth more than the asking price. Second, the piece has eight sockets and due to it's unique design it is easy to use all eight simultaneously. 6/8 pivot I believe 180 degrees, so no matter what kind of clunky or bulky or physically cumbersome charger I need to plug in, it will fit!
My first purchase of this surge protect was at the PX (Post Exchange for all the civilians, as was my second and third. Once I came back from Iraq and had even more devices that needed to be charged, I headed back to the PX for another and to my horror found it was no longer a stocked item. *gasp* I immediately headed to Amazon and have been ordering them here ever since.
Best. Surge Protector. Ever!
Digital camera Review: Decent Strip Summary: 5 Stars
Great for commercial use as well as for the home, including home theater. These power strips (and their bigger brothers) have outlasted many others I have used, some in extreme conditions. They are built well and last.
Digital camera Review: Does NOT have a right angle plug! Summary: 2 Stars
I purchased this surge protector for four key features:
- right angle plug
- slim straight line (single outlet wide strip, not a double)
- pivoting outlets
- black
It does not have a right angle plug. The Technical Details and Product Description claim it has a right angle plug, and even the picture on the box the surge protector came in shows a right angle plug, but the picture above, and the picture provided by the manufacturer on their website, shows a standard outlet plug.
The pivot outlet feature is only moderately helpful.
Extremely disappointing.
If it had a right angle 45 degree offset plug, this would have been a great surge protector.
I purchased a slim straight-line (single outlet wide) unit with a right angle plug from another manufacturer.
What a shame.
Digital camera Review: Durable Summary: 5 Stars
I have an older house so this time is perfect for my kitchen. I can't usually put pulls next to each other because the large plugs on blenders or electrical appliances because of there size. Being able to arrange the plugs the way I need them has been since a god send for me. I don't hate my kitchen as much as I used to.
