I just got it today plugged it into my nano ipod and it worked great!
It does drain the battery pretty quick but you can plug into an outlet with the usb to ac power outlet adapter

I just got this product and am very happy with it. The sound quality is surprisingly good for such a small product with the microphones that it has attached. This product works with the 2nd gen nano so you don't have to use the video iPod. This eliminates any hard disk noise. I have the 8 gB nano and it works flawlessly with this. The gain is adjustable between high and none. I found that the recordings of my piano playing clipped noticeably with the gain on so I just turned it off and it was fine. I am using it for recording my music lessons and my wife's voice lessons.
I have some minor complaints about this product. The first is the very poor stand that comes with it. For me that is not a huge problem for recording since I have used it on a music stand. If I was in a meeting that would be more of a problem. The second is probably a function of using with my nano. The headphone jack is obscured by the microphone so anytime I want to listen to what was recorded it requires me to remove the mic. It also is a little tricky to use with a nano in a protective case because you have to really make sure the mic is plugged flush into the interface. Since you can't use the headphones with it while it is recording it is tough to tell if you are clipping the recording so a little clip indicator would be nice. Not a huge deal for me though. If I want a high quality recording I would just use other equipment I have.
I really like the USB port attachment and the line in feature. That makes it easy to use high quality mics with a mic preamp if you want or other line out devices.

This little add-on recorder has phenomenal quality for the price. We've used other accessories but like this one the best. Good buy!
