I used this product for an entire weekend and it worked perfectly! it is idiot proof, all you do is plug it to the ipod and its ready to go. No programming or downloading or anything its fully compatible and ready for immediate use with an 80G Ipod you get 363 Hours of digital quality recording time- my experience was amazing- i would suggest this product to all college students, or anyone going to a conference, important meeting, or seminars- Steven Reckner
Digital camera Review: Belkin Tune Talk is excellent Summary: 5 Stars
I am in a vocal jazz group and use the Tune Talk to record rehearsals. The sound quality is excellent. It picks up the sounds from across the room very clearly, while keeping a nice and accurate balance between my voice in the forground and the rest of the group in the background. It's extremely easy to use and very compact, with the microphone built in, unlike the Micromemo which has a mic that sticks out. The sound quality exceeded my expectations and I bought units for my son and my husband because I was so pleased with the results.
Digital camera Review: Belkin TuneTalk Microphone Summary: 5 Stars
This little stereo microphone plugs neatly into my black iPod Video through an ingenious holder on a flat, fold-up plastic stand. The quality is great for interviews for broadcast, simply and easily transferred via iTunes to desktop computer for editing and uploading to web. Very clear recording, haven't heard a hiss yet. I've used it hand-held for one-on-one and on a table in a large conference room for panel discussion.
Before I ordered it, I thought maybe it seemed a little pricey at around $50 but after using it, I'm very happy that it's top quality equipment at a reasonable price.
Operating it is simplicity itself. A record button - push (or touch) to start, same to stop. USB power connector plugs in the bottom. I've been very happy with battery usage, but I only record 5-6 minutes at a time. Battery time of 90 minutes is not a problem to me, but it would need to stay hooked up to USB power source for longer recordings.
I'll give it a five-star, thumbs up and a very strong recommendation.
Digital camera Review: Belkin TuneTalk for iPod 2G Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this to record clips from our band's rehearsals; no intention to do anything very hi-fi, just to get an idea on what's happening there. And this toy does the trick - it's good enough quality, works with a single press of the button, iPod recognizes it automatically and opens the recording application, no need for batteries or setup acrobatics... so couldn't be much easier.
IPod creates your recordings as .wav files which you can then convert to mp3 in your computer. Only thing that I would have liked was that the recording would be straight in mp3, to make it even more simple. .wav is an unnecessarily big format for this purpose and quality isn't that great anyhow with this sort of equipment, so no need really ...
