Digital camera Review: A very good A/C Powered Hub

Pricing: for now it is at $15, a little bit more expensive than many others USB hub on Amazon, but if you take a look to see if they are actually work, this Belkin USB Hub is definitely the best 4-port hub that you can find.
Reliability: It works perfect on Windows, just plug and play. All of the ports work independently, is USB 2.0 high-speed and each of them has a nice little green LED indicator. The only little annoying thing is that they don't tell which port goes for which LED, but that you can figure out easily. They also have a red LED indicator for A/C power.
A/C Powered: It comes with a 2.5-2.6A adapter. This means theoretically you can plug 4 external HDDs, or speakers, or mp3, or phones, you name it, on it. Each external peripheral however may draw 0.5-0.7A, which comes at 2.0-2.8A in total, so it is safer to have a look at your external peripheral's power consumption first before plugging them all in, or you can plug at max 3 power consuming external peripheral and everything will be fine. The adapter is small occupy only 1 slot on your power socket. Don't worry about a mammoth power adapter.
Cord: as long as typical cord of a TV/Desktop PC/Laptop.
Design: it is well designed, even though the design is weird a little bit with 2 port on the side and two on the top. The one on the top has a wide space between them than can tolerate big USB plug or thumb drive. The ones one the side has the typical spacing that you may see one PC or laptop.
Durability: I just bought it last week. I'll edit this post when it brake.

Having had several BELKIN USB hubs they ALL HAVE FAILED WITH DEAD PORTS IN A SHORT TIME < 6 months.
I bought more than one because my local stores only carry this brand. I would never buy another one but I have been forced to buy these hubs that keep failing.

This is one great "Hub"...took it out of the box, read the installation instructions, plugged it in and "It Just Worked" (first time,with no hassells). I only mention this because I purchased a 7-port hub from another manufacturer ,(D-***k), that I ended up returning. After countless setups and emails to tech support, this unit just did not work. Bought one of these when I got my webcam last year and I have to agree with the other reviewers that this unit really is well designed. Nice weighted base makes it stay in place, and the rear two ports keep my webcam and scanner running while the top two ports handle my flash drive and an iPod connection. Unit is powered and the attached cable minder keeps another cable (or cables)close by. The unit has given me no problems in the nearly year that I've had it.
