Digital camera Review: Black, not Brown
Summary: 4 Stars
This hub is black, not brown. I wish I could say it was a really, really dark shade of brown, but it's quite simply black. Perhaps future manufacturing runs will get the color right.
Functionally, this hub seems fine. It comes with a 2.1 amp "wall-wart" switching power supply, which is smaller and more efficient than the linear power supplies that come with some USB hubs. The plug is rotated 90 degrees, which is nice for plugging into an electrical outlet, but annoying for a power strip.
The USB input is of the mini-USB variety, not a standard type B connection. A USB to mini-USB cable is included, which is probably about 6 feet long and of average quality.
The non-skid feet on the bottom of this hub seem to do an adequate job at keeping it in place on a desk. The cord management groove is a nice touch.
I'd give it 5 stars if they just got the color right.
