This is a GREAT mouse pad!! I have one at home that I've been using for probably 7 years... I like it so much that I bought one to take to work with me and use as well! I'm probably due for a new one at home... I never really thought about it until recently, but I do find that it slides around a bit on my wooden desk after daily use. I don't think the newer one at work does at all... mine's probably just work out a bit, but it's also worn in! The gel is a lot softer than the newer pad I'm using at work... very very nice for your wrist!! Shop around a littel bit... I think I bought mine from an individual seller instead of the retail price and it was a lot cheaper! Even at $12 or 13 or whatever Amazon has it listed for, it's still totally worth the money in the long run!!Digital camera Review: COMFY

Just what I needed.Just the right size.Not too large to take up too much space on my desk area.The most important part is the gel pad itself .Is is thick enough to be very comfortable.

I've had several of these, which I bought over 5 years ago that I use at both work and home. Being a software developer, I use it 8 hours a day at work. They are worn out and I needed replacements. I was a bit hesitant to buy one after reading some of the reviews that described the subtle changes to the material and problems with optical mice.
I will report that yes, the surface material has changed slightly. I can also report that I've had NO problems with either of my optical mice. One is a Logitech MX400 Laser Mouse and the other one is a standard Dell optical mouse (red LED under it).
Therefore, I will be ordering more.
