Digital camera reviews of Belkin Wireless-G Router DSL/Cable GatewayDigital camera Review: Cheap, functional, lifetime warranty! Summary: 4 Stars
This Belkin Wireless-G router (F5D7230-4) is cheap (frequently found to be less than half the price of the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router). It is easy to setup, and has robust security options (WPA2/TKIP, MAC filtering, no SSID broadcast, etc.). Firmware is easy to update. Belkin provides a lifetime warranty on it (no longer true for their latest generation of products like the F5D7234-4).
I have two. I use one of the as a travel router (yes it is small enough, although I miss my Linksys WTR54GS and I may consider moving on to one of these). The second I use as a WAP in my basement (my Actiontec MI424WR just can't deliver the signal I need in the basement).
Digital camera Review: Complete Waste of Money Summary: 1 Stars
I've had my belkin G router for about a year now and this thing is the worse. It drops the internet signal daily and sometimes two or three times daily. Then I have to unplug it wait for it to reset, plug it up again, and let my computer pick up the signal. Its such a big hassle. I hate the Belkin G router. I would get a linksys instead, which I plan to do soon.
Digital camera Review: Complicated set-up for mac users Summary: 1 Stars
Very troublesome to install on Mac. the security features involve unnecessary complications as well. keeps logging of the net and disconnects every once in a while
Digital camera Review: Constant Disconnection Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this because it was the cheapest router at the store. I guess you get what you pay for. It works pretty well if you use it just for websurfing, ie. checking email and random websites. But this router is horrible for streaming videos and downloading. Whenever I try to watch a video off of youtube, it would load maybe 30 seconds to a minute and then the connection just pauses (I can tell this because the wireless icon on my laptop stops lighting up), and it won't reconnect again to finish downloading the streaming video. It's like the router would decide to take a breather and forget to finish it's job. This also happens when I try to upload or download files from email or websites. It would download for a minute and just stop midway. Finally, I got so fed up with it that I unplugged the cable from the router and just downloaded whatever I needed through the cable. I'm going to have to buy a linksys now, because I just can't stand these pauses anymore! Stay away from Belkin! Linksys's have never failed me yet...
Digital camera Review: Constantly dropping signal Summary: 1 Stars
I need to do my part to bring the rating of this product down. It's horrible. Signal is constantly dropping (about every 20 minutes) and browsing speed is noticeably reduced. Returning this as soon as possible.
