Digital camera Review: Be ready to relearn your controls
Summary: 3 Stars

This is an extremely powerful gaming tool. However, be ready to relearn how to play your games. Its pretty involved. The Joystick is a bit cumbersome in my opinion. The ability to make macros with pauses in them is awesome, even if you can't handle actually using this as your main controller, which is the case with me. Too much to relearn.

Digital camera Review: Belkin N52TE
Summary: 5 Stars

I have received and been using the Belkin N52TE to play some of the Delta Force series games and several other first person shooter/sniper type games, and am very happy with it. The Belkin N52TE was extremely easy to configure and customize to my game playing style, and has enabled me to put amost all of the controls in easy reach with one hand operation, instead of using the bulky pc keyboard. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase for me. I would not hesitate to recommend the Belkin N52TE to a friend!

Digital camera Review: Belkin N52TE -- Not Ready for Market Yet
Summary: 1 Stars

The purpose of a macro enabled gamepad is to ease the use of multiple game commands and improve both the timing and execution of commands as compared to a player who is pressing keys on a normal keyboard.

The Belkin N52TE comes with a lot of marketing hype. It is easy to assume that it will soon eclipse the Belkin N52, which has been the standard for gamepads for several years. Unfortunately it falls a bit short.

The N52TE has an improved keypad that seems to be mechanically better than the N52. Unfortuantely, the spacebar on the N52TE must be depressed precisely in the center and travels nearly 1/4 inch to make contact. This makes it difficult press and to use quickly.

There is a conveniently located thumb button that could be a real asset but has a mushy feel with no 'click' to indicate when it has been depressed. This makes it useless for quick, momentary functions.

The backlighting feature, instead of only showing the key tops, surrounds the entire perimeter of the keys with bright, blue light. Since one of the reasons to use a keypad is the convenience of not having to look at the keys for finger placment, this is more of a distraction than a help. Fortunately the backlight can be turned off.

The new N52TE has three, selectable keybanks. The N52 had four.

The software has a completely new UI. If you are a N52 user, you cannot transfer any of your current macros to the new unit, you must start from scratch. The new programming software contains most of the fuctionality of the current N52 software but lacks several features that most users consider essential:

---As currently offered, if a macro is running, hitting any other key will stop the macro.
---There is no access to the timing between KEY-PRESS and KEY-RELEASE. The timing between events within the macro is limited to a preset value and cannot be edited.
---While you can create and save macros by selecting [RECORD] and entering the keystrokes, there are bugs that prevent the effective editing of the macro.

I find the software to be unusable and I have put the N52TE on the shelf until the developers come up with something that works.

wow this thing is awesome. it basically mimics keyboard keys, then you flash macro's into it to mimic certain keystrokes. the build is nice and you can turn the blue leds for the lit keys off from a switch on the bottom. I can use this for hours without feeling any fatigue. It does however feel a little peculiar using it at first and has a learning curve. Once you get past that you can use this for anything. I myself like using it for music production as it can easily shortcut things for me(Ableton live) making workflow more streamlined. the editor is alright and fairly straightforward. As far as hardware it could probably use some sort of weight or mounting to keep it from tipping back when your getting heavy handed. The worst part is that I havn't got the flash editor to work with Windows 7 64bit. works fine with Vista 32bit and had to program it there. Once it's programmed, everything is saved into the rom of the n52te and you can plug it back in to whatever and it'll maintain it's programming. Once it's programmed it works fine with Windows 7 64bit, just not the editor to change it up. comes with a removable joystick for the thumbstick and the palm rest adjusts. It would've gotten 5 stars if it worked flawlessly with windows 7 64 bit.

Digital camera Review: Belkin n52te (Tournament Edition)
Summary: 4 Stars

Okay so I got mine about a month back, it's decent enough, I use it for online gaming. There are a few quirks with it that kind of are hard to get past at first - one is the fact that the positioning of your my hand feels cramped when it's in the position A and when in position B it's hard to hit the top keys (1-5).

The other complaint that I have is the joy stick has a tenancy to give out when used alot, it's not that it doesn't work it's just sometimes it catches to one side or another and sticks, much like a PS or X-box controller would.

There are a few nice features I do much enjoy on it, the 3 profiles that you can macro and set up with the change of one click is great. In case you do multiple tasks with it, it can have multiple purposes. The second feature I enjoy is the back light, well that's nothing too productive, it does help in the dark and it's just in my opinion cool to see.

All in all it's really not that bad of a product and my experience with it has been quite well, it does take time to learn the joy pad/directional pad, but with some practice (about a day or so) I was able to get it down packed.
