These are your standard cd/dvd inserts. They are sturdy though and have a tab where the cd/dvd slips in to hold it in. The tab will keep the cd/dvd in if you accidentally pick it up the wrong way up. Otherwise the inside back of the pocket is smooth. You won't have to worry about your discs getting scratched like in some other holders.Digital camera Review: Functional

I use these in conjunction with the Handstands Binder, which can comfortably hold one set of these in addition to what comes in the binder.
They are easy to put in and remove, and safely hold the DVDs in place.
One word of caution. I recently was transporting my binder back and forth to a family member in the hospital so we could pick DVD movies to watch, and I wound up putting the binder upside down into a shopping bag that I was using to bring the binder and other items with me. The result was that one DVD came out of the sleeve and several others were partly out. It was not a big deal to fix, but this would not have been a concern if I had been using a zippered DVD case.
So the lesson is that if you transport your binder or move it around from room to room, you need to keep it upright because otherwise your DVDs can come out of the inserts.

I purchased the binders several years ago. They are well made, sturdy, simple to use and reasonably priced. I like that additional sheets can be purchased separately as need dictates. We use them for music and movies. We just purchased a Wii and will buy another for game storage. They are also an attractive alternative to some other storage solutions.
