Digital camera Review: Well, it works....
Summary: 2 Stars

I didn't expect a production quality floodlight from this, but I was expecting to at least be able to record in a darkened room. As long as you are trying to record from about 2 feet from your subject, this light will work. Maybe. It gives off that bluish white LED light that many cameras can't really pick up. Also, the light output is extremely weak. A candle does a better job. (On the plus side, it does come with rechargeable AAA batteries, and it has a battery cover to use your own if needed.) Save your money on this, and get the Sima ultrabrite. It does a far better job of lighting up your shot, it uses lithium rechargeable batteries (no memory effect), and it comes with a bracket. This light is going to be a last resort back-up light to the Sima I already have.

A note on these small camcorder lights. None of these little lights are going to light up an entire room. You are probably not even going to light up your subject past 10 feet. These lights are for close range, tight shot use. By that I mean usually 3-5 feet away, with the light focused on the center of the video. If you need to light up more than that, you need to buy a professional lighting system.
