I bought this product, though I was wary given some of the customer reviews. Having received it and used it, I can say with confidence that any of the negative reviews written for this product are obviously are wrong and or misleading.
I have an HP netbook running XP, and the device was recognized, the software was automatically installed by windows, and I was able to connect my mouse and my phone which ran my personal area network with ease! Feel confident when buying this device. It is not cheap looking, it does not include any illegal or poor software at all; there is none needed. It works great, period.

This dongle isn't compatible with Vista as stated. I decided to use it on an XP machine that I have and it worked. However, the software is a trial version. After 5MB of data transfer, the product becomes useless. Then you must purchase the full software. This wasn't stated at the time of purchase.
