We have a very small bedroom and I didn't want the clutter of a large surround system in the room. I looked all over the internet for a quality small home theater system and didn't find anything....so I decided to be creative..and look at computer speakers.
We were able to hear a demo of these speakers before we bought them. The sound in the large, cement and metal store was awesome, so I thought we would take a chance and see how they would work in our situation. I was not happy about the price, but the sound is great....and
It's a success. Beautiful sound, in an itty bitty living space WHOO HOO. I have only three problems (#1 and #2 not Bose's fault, since I'm trying to make this system do something other than their original intended use)
#1 I have to keep switching out my wireless headset and this surround sound system because they both plug into the audio out on the TV, and there is only (1) audio out on my TV. and I can't find a splitter.
#2 I wish the hockey puck thing was wireless!!!..we had to buy a 9 pin mini din extension cord in order to put the hockey puck by our bed so we could adjust the volume.
#3 The price...when you open the box...it's very scary to think that we paid over $200.00 for these itty bitty speakers.. I would have preferred them in the $125- $150 range considering the fact that there is only 3 components.

I just recently purchased this speaker system and it is excellent! If you are looking for basic computer speakers that will put out the same volume and quality of sound as a full-on receiver stereo system, then these are the speakers for you. However, there is only one issue that I found and have also seen other people mention in their reviews, and that is if you frequently listen to quiet music, such as classical or easy listening I would not recommend this system to you. There is a slight buzzing/white noise sound that is audible at low volumes, and when playing lighter music such as easy listening or classical you will be very annoyed by this. I listen to classical music when I study, and this is when I first noticed the light buzzing sound, but I have my old speakers to listen to the lighter stuff with. If, on the other hand you listen to mostly rock, dance, rap, hip-hop, r&b, or any music that requires some volume then these speakers are perfect for you. I really enjoy the fact that I can blast them at loud volumes without any distortion, similar to a proper 3-stacker stereo system (which honestly is what I expect from a premium brand like Bose). I really like these speakers. I have several other Bose products and I've never been disappointed with the quality or sound of any of them. This speaker system is no exception. I have them connected to my desktop computer and listen to Itunes music, podcasts, and movies. The speakers are well made and pleasing to look at.
