Digital camera reviews of Bose QuietComfort 2 Acoustic Noise Canceling Headphones

Digital camera Review: Not worth it
Summary: 3 Stars

The headphones work great but after only 8 uses the ear pads fell off and the foam inside has deteriorated.

Bose offered to be very nice and extend the warrantee all of another 3 months to cover but mine are older than that (not much though).

For the money they charge they should not fall apart. I have a pair of Koss that are 40 years old and still perfect. No more Bose anything for me.

Digital camera Review: Nice headphone, but not worth the money
Summary: 3 Stars

I have to say it is a pair of nice headphones. The noise canceling function works well, but I do not think it is worth paying extra $160 for this feature (regular Bose headphones $139/pair).

In terms of audio quality, I am not an audiophile. To my ears, I cannot tell the difference between Bose and my cheap regular Sony headphones. Again, I have to admit that I am not an audiophile. If you are like me, I do not believe it is worth paying $300 for this pair of Headphones.

Bose? QuietComfort? 2 Acoustic Noise Cancelling? Headphones
My pair of 15-month old Bose QC2 headphones broke at the plastic joint above the left earpiece. I researched this and found it is a widely acknowledged design/manufacturing defect. The headphones were not subject to any out of the ordinary stress (on an airplane -- which is one of the primary targets in Bose's advertising).

The Bose customer phone rep did not appear to believe me when he asked how they were broken -- I placed them in my lap when I leaned down to retrieve something out of my backpack under the seat in front of me.

"That shouldn't have broken them," he said.

'Ya think? (face-palm gesture)

Because I use them at work, I sucked it up and made the $100 trade for a new pair. [Bose doesn't replace or repair, they sell you a new pair at cost] For $100, I expected fast turn-around service, and Bose certainly sent me an email right away that they received the broken headphones and that the new ones were being shipped.

But I waited for 10 days.

How can you find shipping that's slower than five days from Phoenix? It must be difficult to locate a special needs delivery tortoise that will ship to the east coast. My shipment from Rhode Island to the Bose center in South Carolina was there in three days. I must have the magic touch.

My initial contact with the QC headphones was a fellow student in a recording studio class in 2002. He was a Bose employee and actually lent me a set of the headphones for a week. I loved them and soon became a parrot, extolling the headphone's virtues and was very impressed with Bose via this employee.

I have a different opinion of Bose after this experience.

Bose appears to be a petty penny-pinching company with a blimp-like bloated, grandiose self-image of their products and a passive-aggressive attitude toward their customer base.

I like the headphones, but I'll treat them more delicately. In fact, I plan to use brightly colored duct tape to reinforce the plastic where the last pair broke as advertising and a precaution for the inferior mechanical design and construction.

When people notice the brightly colored tape, I'll relish reiterating my $100, 10-day delivery Bose experience and my new opinions that will largely consist of the contents of this review.

Digital camera Review: Boes Quiet Comfort 2 Headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent, Once you travel with these headphones you will never travel without them again.

Digital camera Review: Nice sound, not perfect. Good canceling, not great.
Summary: 4 Stars

First of all, the noise canceling has an eery air sound, not very loud but makes the headphones lose points. The sound quality on very loud (the loudest there is) is fantastic but on low the headphones lose all of their great qualities.

And after two hours of using I got this headeche that I couldn't explain.

you definitely expect more for 300 hundred.
