Digital camera reviews of Bose Wave Music System - Platinum WhiteDigital camera Review: Overpriced, Pretty and Underwhelmed Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased this years ago with the buttons and was not overwhelmed with the sound for the price. I now came back and bought this newer version, front loading for CDs. The sound is not what I would expect and I am underwhelmed once again. This clock radio with CD is attractive and the frontloading system design is the most impressive aspect of this radio. The sound is muddy and the highs are poor. For the $499 and the additional cost I incurred for the nice CD accessory, I know I will return this or feel like a fool for being taken for so much cash.
Digital camera Review: Perfect Product. Summary: 5 Stars
I am always wondering how bose comes up with such an amazing product so different from others yet excellent in every issues. I tried my CD collections on this machine and found it did perfectly, especially the bass, I like the balanced the bass: not to much, not too slight. the bass from this machine is deep and tight, the highs and mids are always balanced. It seems that all the musical instruments are in this small box playing for you! sometimes you can even judge the locations of the cello, the singer's breath.
When you adjust the volume to the higher volume, no problem, the sound will not be distorted.
And the radio reception has the talk show mode, makes it so perfect, unlike the boston receptor radio which the human voices muffed because the bass.
I strongly recommend you buy, even though it is expensive, but sometimes you should be a little nicer to yourself and enjoy a little luxurious stuff.
Digital camera Review: Quality Sound Summary: 5 Stars
I have had my Bose Wave Music System for just under a year and am still impressed with it. The sound quality is amazing, everything comes through crystal clear (even when played very loud). I have hooked my Bose up so that the television plays through the AUX as well, making watching movies so much nicer.
The biggest pro for me is how easy it is to use. Just slide your cd in and it's ready to go. There aren't a million buttons to fiddle with like on other stereo units (I am sure there are people who like all those buttons, but that's all a bit much for me). The Bose remote only has a few buttons (there are no controls on the unit itself) making it very self explanatory (play/pause, stop/eject, seek/track and volume are your options for playing a cd).
The alarm feature is also something I use all the time. Set the time you want to wake up and to what you want to wake up to (radio or cd). It's great!
Several of my friends thought I was crazy to spend this amount of money on a stereo unit. I say it is worth every penny. I use it every day and I love it.
Digital camera Review: Reality in Audio and all Technology today is a Game Summary: 2 Stars
When I've talked to my fellow sales people in the past & present the Bose products are really a Joke since they all are paid higher commissions to sell them because the margins are outrageous. I remember in the 80's when we used to sit around at days end and compare the Bose 901 to the other High End Systems they were good but really lacked spacial definition (instrument location) and were not built very well either. When I called Bose to ask how many watts (clean amplifier power) (Watts always = more cost/unit) the Wave had they couldn't tell me since it's not a listed spec! Whenever you buy a High Priced unit it ALWAYS Lists the RMS Watts/channel @ 20-20,000 Hz @ X% distortion and if it doesn't you can bet 90% of the time that they've got something to hide.
Bose are Very easy to sell another product against it by comparison (A vs B) and most always blow the Bose Products away when they're done. With all the experience I've had selling systems at prices you wouldn't believe and names you've never heard of I just can't believe that they're doing so well with this radio. For $150 it's good, and believe me when I say everyone is making 50% -100% margins, when standard audio margins are never more than 25% to 40% even on $5000 systems. Don't believe the so called Audiophiles here that are Long Winded either since I think they're in love with their own voice.
Please do yourself a favor and before you buy a Wave Radio (Klipsch Horn invented the technology too not Bose) go to an excellent Audio Store and ALWAYS bring your own CD along too and sit and listen to what's available for the money. Never buy on impulse since all good audio salesman are told "if you tell the customer to listen how amazing it sounds they will hear it" and most always they do.
This is all a big game with Name Brands now being bought and sold like currency to the Chinese so never go by a Brand either unless you see it for real. Sorry about being what may seem as pessimistic but it's the way the world runs in a capitalistic system where Marketing is King.
Digital camera Review: Save your money...buyer, BEWARE!!! Summary: 1 Stars
What a disappointment.
In the mornings, I like to listen to talk radio on AM. With this product, forget about it!!! The AM reception is a joke (seriously). The Bose techs give you a couple of ideas...1)rotate the entire unit until the reception improves or 2)purchase a Terk "Advantage" cordless antenna and rotate that until reception improves.
Both were ineffective. Unacceptable.
The second problem I have is their return policy. Trust me, if you're not happy after 30 days, you are OUT OF LUCK - Bose will not accept the return or issue a credit.
So, I say, don't bother. Who needs the hassle of an overpriced product backed up by professional techs who know how to get you off the phone and out of their lives, while feigning unawareness of the product's obvious deficiencies?
