If you know nothing of Brother know this, they are absolutely the best laser printer for the money!!!
Basically, Brother took their commercial quality and applied it to home/office printers.
I have had nothing but good experiences from their equipment. (I have used several, both commercial and home.)
I got this printer for almost $40 cheaper than at staples!!!
If you're like me and mostly print text, then this is ABSOLUTELY the printer for you!!!

Digital camera Review: Absolute Workhorse!

I've had this printer for over two years now and it has never let me down once. I use it primarily for printing university lecture notes or readings which can be rather large in size. In terms of efficiency I have only had to replace the toner cartridge twice since purchase and the second time was only a week ago. Haven't noticed so much as a blemish on anything I have printed and it hasn't come close to breaking down or failing to print. Nothing wrong with the printer. It works great. The problem was me. I thought I was getting a wireless printer and when I went back to read the info on the printer to find out where I saw it was wireless there was no mention of wireless. My bad. But the printer works great and have no complains about it.

I love this printer!
I have one with me at college, and it fulfills all my needs that I need in a printer.
Cheap black text prints. If you do not want / need color prints, this printer is for you.
It is very fast, efficient, and quiet when printing.
A very small compact size compared to other laser printers. Does not take up a lot of room.
I have a macbook pro, and it is plug and play. So easy to set up and use.
Once my parents printer broke at home, my parents bought the same printer that I have.
My parents don't know anything about computers, let alone printers. But when they bought this printer,
they where surprised at how easy it was to set it up and use. My parents have an iMac.
They are quite impressed with this printer as well.
The toner is a little on the expensive side, compared to my old ink jet cartridges.
But you can print a whole lot more pages with these toner cartridges then an ink jet cartridge.
It is worth the money. You will not need to replace the cartridge every month now.
I replace my toner cartridge about every 14 months.

Remember when black & white laser printers cost hundreds, if not thousands?
Wow, not any more, as this fantastic little Brother printer proves.
This little printer is completely silent in operation -- no loud, annoying clunks like those produced with every page by my old HP -- it's twice as fast as the HP was, and it spits out beautiful sharp output with no paper-handling issues.
It also has an ON/OFF button and pause button (the HP lacked both, and I missed them).
The only thing I can grouse about is the lack of an included printer cable -- apparently none of the printer companies include them any more -- but you can pick up a standard USB printer cable for ten bucks or less.
The Brother was also a snap to set up with Windows XP -- no problemo.
If you are looking for a fast, high-quality, and incredibly affordable black & white laser printer, this Brother gets my highest recommendation.
