I read a ton of reviews about different lower priced laser printers and found this to be the best choice - and it seems I made the right decision. The price was great and though I have only had it for a month or so, I love it so far.
I can't speak for how it lasts over the years but the wireless install was super easy, Im on a Mac with OS 10.5. Took me about 10 minutes and had no problems at all. The speed and quality of the prints is great as well.
It is a bit noisy on start up and while printing but that does not bother me. Cant beat it for the price.
Highly recommended!

I have been using a Canon ink jet printer and Im constantly changing the ink tank. This laser toner will last much, much longer- especially since I set it to Toner Saver mode. I used the direct wire hookup to set the printer up and it worked on my main computer like a charm. I was then able to add the drivers to my son's computer upstairs as well as to my laptop. I have no wireless network. I wanted only to be able to print from one of three laptops from anywhere in the house without carrying computer to printer and plugging in USB cable. Initial installation failed. The manual does not seem to cover this particular contingency so I went online and found explicit instructions in the FAQ. This laser printer from Brother is very affordable. The setup was easy and its speed is great. I have not figure out the manual feed yet. I don't know it can print legal size paper. Since I don't, it is not a problem. I have not tried wireless and network feature.
There are 2 complaints:
1) Power Surge. When I plug it in a surge protected multi-plug panel which shares the same wall jack with a light, the light will flicker. Luckily it didn't boot off my computer like some of the other people had experienced. So I plugged it into a different wall jack which doesn't have a light or computer and its accessories.
2) Print Side. It is pretty awkward to me when I print on to a pre-printed form. I need to remember to face it down and head it exactly the way the paper would come out of the printer. I am just not used to it. I guess some instructions on the printer itself would help.
Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.
