This is a great fax machine. The copies are crisp and clear and you only need one phone line. It comes with a starter toner which it a great money saver. This was the best bottom line deal I found not including mail-in rebates. I never ever consider a mail-in rebate deal since they are just too time consuming and difficult. The Brother Intellifax 2820 Laser Fax all-in-one had the best reviews for the price that I could find, and I have not been disappointed. I've owned it for 4 months now and it works perfectly for my business need as a primary Printer/Fax machine, and second as an occasional copier. I finally took the plunge and got rid of the ink jet and got a laser. It just got too expensive purchasing new inkjet cartridges all the time, after they kept drying up from lack of use. Now I never have to worry; I'll always have perfect printing, even if the printer sits inactive for months. The only drawback is lack of color printing; my compromise is just to print black ink on color paper! The Brother 2820 comes with a Brother TN350 toner cartridge which is rated for 2,500 pages. So if you're like me a light user at about 30 pages per month, one cartridge will last me 7 years, saving hundreds of $$ in inkjet cartridges!Digital camera Review: Great fax for the money!

If you're looking for a personal fax/printer/copier this machine is the one. Sure it's not for someone printing a book, or business with large faxes. But for occasional faxes and copying and printing, it's great. You download the software package but it has all the tools to fax from your pc and print via a usb cable that you have to purchase but can be found cheaply at any discount pc store. The toner and drum, are just about as cheap as any other laser product. I have seen toner for 28 bucks and refurbished drums for 63. If you use it for home use, it should be good enough. For home businesses, i would look for something made for more capacity. The paper tray seems to hold about a 1/2 ream.
