I am SO sick of ink jet printers. I wanted a no-nonsense, high quality, black-and-white printer that had a low per-page cost.
I think the MFC-7420 fits that bill nicely. The up-front cost of the printer itself is amazingly low. Furthermore, the toner cartridge can be had for less than $50, and provides up to 2,500 pages at 5% coverage. That comes out to less than 2 cents per page!
I find the overall quality of this printer to be quite satisfactory, and it would be quite usable in a small office. The print quality is very good, and the scanner works very well also.
Use an online service for printing color photos, and use this printer for your every day printing needs.
