Searched for weeks for best printer and this one kept coming up with great reviews. Bought it during black Friday and many people were eyeing it at office depot as we stood in line. One gentleman approached us and questioned why it's not color. Well, "you'll be paying $$$ for color and wireless." Besides, for every day work, how often do you use color? Realistically, hardly ever! Installation was not too complicated. I'm very excited about this printer. I've used it from several rooms of the house and yes, I've also printed outside from our gazebo! Love it! Love it! Love it!!!! Best investment for laser! Ain't going back to inkjet and wired, FOR SURE!Digital camera Review: Awesome! Love it!

I love this new printer. I originally had the HP1100, which is in still working condition. The reason I purchased this one is because I needed an all in one printer. I had a deskjet and my laser HP, but got tired of having to hook up my usb port to it or go to the machine to print. This brother, I took a chance on. I originally wanted another HP, as you know those cost a lot, but was surprised that they had this one fairly cheap and it works great. I love it. Recommended to my husband that he get one for his office. Oh, I also have a small business that I use from home and for the amount of paper I use this one works great so far. This multifunction Brother MFC7840W is fantastic. It was easy to set up, easy to use and it was reasonably priced. I prefer to scan items to files or email and am very pleased with the ease and quality. The instuctions can be a bit of a challenge to folks like me who are not software savy. When using the scan function, you must to go into the control center and change the settings if you prefer to save as a PDF file. It took me a little bit to figure this out. This is my 2nd Brother 7840W MFC printer as i have one in my office and and one in my house and let me tell you that this is the best Multi-Function Laser Jet printer that you can buy for under $250 BY FAR!! Excellent quality prints via Laser Jet; Faxes, Scans and the Wireless Wi-Fi function works flawlessly! Laser cartridges last a very long time and the cheaper generic cartridges work just as well at more than half the price! Not teh fastes printe rin the world(warms up for a few seconds before printing) but its Very durable, does many of you office jobs and will last you a long time. LOVE IT!!!
WARNING: Stay away form any Printers with ink cartridges, including Brother- the cost of the ink cartridges, the pain and the amount of times you have to change them will cost you hundreds of dollars even if the Ink printers are cheaper initially! Brother Laser jet all the way!!

I ordered this printer after reading all the good reviews on the internet. It is supposed to be a Multifunction Center. So I was hoping it would print both B&W + Color, which is not the case and HIGHLY disappoints me. The Control Center application never works. The drivers that came along with the printer are outdated. The make of the printer is flimsy to touch.
I have had this multifunction center for just over a week and have only tried faxing. I do not know how copying and scanning will turn out, but it prints pretty fast. I do not see wireless as a big plus, since most of the time the printer would be sitting close to the router in a home office. For the high cost, it should have had the color printing feature. In my opinion for an All-in-one, it sure is not complete.
