Digital camera reviews of Brother TN460 High Yield Toner CartridgeDigital camera Review: Most economical laser toner for small business home office. Summary: 5 Stars
I Have been using Brother laser printers which use this cartridge for about 7 years. GREAT PRODUCT. In fact the Brother multi function machine I currently use is a (now discontinued) MFC 9600. It has now been replaced with the nearly identical MFC 9700. I have had it for some 5 years with regular use and it works flawlesly. I use about 3 or 4 TN460 cartridges per year. Brother seems to be about the only manufacturer which provides a decent economical value for laser toner. Yes their printers/multi function machines cost a little more initially, but, do the long term math. You pay dearly in toner costs down the road with other better known or more highly publisized brands. I am continually surprised when I inquire at any office supply store about the cost per print or cost of operation of any given laser printer. The sales people are baffled, and never seem to know. This to me is THE question to ask. And, with the cost a some excellent full featured heavy duty Brother multifunction machines (fax scanner laser printer) very close to $300, it really does not make any sense to buy anything else if you are a small business home office with fairly regular laser/fax usage. Yes you might get a laser printer for $100 less. But after a few cartridges, you will wish you had a Brother using this economical cartridge.
Digital camera Review: OK, but no 6000 pages Summary: 3 Stars
I own a Brother HL-1440 laser printer that I purchased in January 2002. I don't know exactly how many pages I print each month, but it's not a lot - probably 200 or less, on average. The cartridge that came with the printer lasted about a year. In the 5.5 years since then, I've gone through 3 of the TN460 cartridges - about one every 22 months. By my reckoning, that's about 4000 pages, not 6000. Print quality is excellent during the first half or 2/3 of the cartridge's lifespan, but deteriorates noticeably after that. Toward the end, every page is coated with a faint film of toner. Overall, I am not impressed with these cartridges.
Digital camera Review: Poor Quality Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased the TonerPals TN360 Compatible High Yield Black Toner Cartridge and it felt like I made 30 copies and and I noticed on the Brother Copier it has already said Low Ink Cartridge, I thought I was getting a good deal but this is a Total Rip Off next time you need a ink cartridge try best buy or whatever company this is a learning experience on how i was ripped OFF.
Digital camera Review: Reliable and does provide about 6000 pages. Summary: 5 Stars
My HL-1440 laser printer has been blinking telling me the toner cartridge is low. I kept thinking "this is suppose to yield 6000 pages and I haven't printed that many pages". I don't print a lot (home use) and kept thinking I only changed the cartridge no more than 2 years ago. Well, thanks to Amazon. They kept track of everything you buy from them. I actually went back and found out I bought the cartridge in Apr. 2004 (though I didn't install it right away). Also found out its now $7 more than the last time I bought it which isn't bad since its been 3+ years. I checked Brother's support FAQ's and found out how to pull up my page counter and saw 8847 pages. Its reaching 9000 pages which is why the TN460 is blinking low toner. (3000 pages for the initial TN430 and 6000 for this cartridge). Reliable printer (no problems whatsoever) and toner cartridge that does last as long at they say.
Digital camera Review: Reliable value Summary: 4 Stars
I have bought 3 of these and they work well. They are reliable and they print thousands of pages, although I have never done a count. I recommend this as an economical solution to quality monochrome printing that would work for home or office. I cannot recommend this product against generic or no-name versions, but I can confirm that it provides a very high level of quality for value when compared to HP and other more expensive printers.
