Digital camera reviews of CH Products Pro Pedals USB Flight Simulator Pedals ( 300-111 )

Digital camera Review: CH Pro Pedals, my $0.02 worth
Summary: 4 Stars

I got into the CH hardware after my trusty TM F-22/TQS/RCS set up got to the point where it was too old and battered to be able to keep working correctly. I started with the Fighterstick and the Pro Throttle and within a week had placed my order for the pedals. So far they have worked well and withstood the effects of damp shoes, cats, dust, and so on. I have used them in Aces High 2 and the previous incarnation of Microsoft's Flight Sim and when combined with the CH yoke these pedals have also acted as racing controls in GTA2 and I have been extremely happy with them. I only gave the pedals 4 stars because, to me, they are a bit too narrow. Given that the pedals were designed to fill double duty as both a flight controller and as a driving accessory this is understandible and probably would not be a problem for anyone who had not started out on Thrustmaster's RCS. Another small problem has been that the left toe brake consistently has a stronger 'grab' than the right despite numerous calibrations but this is a managable problem. Overall these pedals are an excellent addition to any sim-pilot's flight control suite and well worth the purchase.

The CH Pedals are great. They are built well. They feel good. Maybe they move just a little too easy for realism. However you soon get used to them. I wish the CH yoke was built this good. (but hey, it works)

Well, after owning Gameport versions of the F16 Fighterstick, Pro Rudder Pedals and Pro Throttle for 10 years I have decided to retire them and purchase the newer USB versions. Fedex delivered my lot in 4 days. WHEW!
Setup was easy. Windows XP (Pro is what I run) has everything needed to make them work. Plug and Play is all you have to do. Of course calibration is a prerequisite for operation.
The Fighterstick is modeled after a joystick found in a F16 Falcon. Has a very nice feel.
The toe brakes on the ch pro rudder pedals work perfectly. A must for taxiing a radial to the runway. The Pro Throttle glides real smooth. They've made some improvements since the Gameport controllers.
I've looked high and low for realistic flight controls and the only other that comes close is Thrustmaster. I like Ch Products design the best.
While the Pro Throttle isn't a true replica of an F16 throttle as modeled by Thrustmaster's HOTAS? Cougar, the ch pro throttle offers more versitility. Don't get me wrong, Thrustmaster makes good stuff. I want the versitility. I fly a wide range of aircraft, including helicopters.
Anyy way,... I won't say Ch is the best.... instead,...they are the best for me. Now all I need to do is get off my duff and build a flight simulator box to sit in with a good seat.
BTW... email Jane's/Electronic Arts and tell them to make a sequal to Fighter's Anthology!

Digital camera Review: CH Products Pro Pedals

Solidly built, works best on a smooth floor, tends to slide around on carpet. Needs a way to adjust the tension, but works very well in FSx. I would recommend to any sim junkie, or to help maintain proficiency.

I purchased the Pro Pedals to go with my CH Products Fighter Stick. Unfortunately since the CH Fighter Stick is not equipped with a rudder control, the ancillary pedals are absolutely necessary. The pedals make all the difference; they are very precise, very well built and perform exceedingly well. Over all, the CH Products stick & pedal combo is a better system as it is much more realistic and the control is more precise. I use the pedals mainly for Aces High II which is an on-line fighter sim; there are also several other sims that it works well with such as IL-2 Sturmovik 1946, etc. The Pro Pedals is a very solid product and I highly recommend it.
